It seems like 100 years ago that Dr Mike Marshall warned Tom House about the Fast Arm Tom imported from Japan. Tom renamed it Double Spin.
It proved so successful at injuring pitchers that PTBoddy brought it back under the name…Elbow Spiral.
I prefer velocity to Forearm Flyout
I prefer engaging the Latissimus Dorsi correctly.
I’m a dinosaur. I prefer velocity to injury.
Good luck to Mr Lacey
Steve needs a fastball that moves to the PAS. I recommend my Maxline fastball.
Steve needs a breaking pitch that moves to the PAS. I recommend my Maxline True Sinker.
Steve doesn’t have the strength to throw my Screwball. Stay away from that pitch
A 101 mph arm in slow motion. ⚾🔥
Steven Lacey: fastball, slider, splitter. Same arm slot, three completely different pitches.

The moment you pull a player is the most important coaching moment of the game. Most coaches waste it in 8 seconds.
Two things kill a player after a substitution:
1. You say nothing — they assume the worst.
2. You over-explain the decision — now they're managing YOUR feelings, not theirs.

Fabulous Stuff Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As has been said in the past,
There’s a Big Difference between being a “Baseball Player” and a “Person who is Playing Baseball.”
There’s also a Big Difference between being a “Hitter” & a “Person who is Hitting.”
"That's the goal as hitting coaches, to get guys to believe in themselves because you're not always going to feel great."
@Brewers hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach details what makes this Milwaukee lineup so difficult to navigate ahead of Game 2! #WorldSeries

Your player took 200 tee swings yesterday. Slept 5 hours. The swing is gone. That's not a metaphor — that's neuroscience.
Tournament Sunday. 8am first pitch. Your player slept 6 hours across two nights — hotel, shared room, late check-in.
Cortisol is already elevated before she touches a ball. Reaction time is running 10-15% slower. The pitcher she's facing threw 70 mph in warmups. To your player's brain, it reads faster than that — because her processing speed is degraded, not her eyes.
The research is straightforward: Stanford sleep studies on athletes show performance output — reaction time, accuracy, decision speed — improves measurably after just two weeks of prioritized sleep, with zero changes to physical training.
Coaches added no new drills. Players hit no extra BP. Sleep did the work the practice already paid for.

Showing up to GIVE rather than get…and we got the WIN! Performance is simple, never easy. Pulling same rope in same direction. LBS is trained. @StateLong

I still remember this All-Star Game in 1998!
Roberto Alomar had such an effortlessly beautiful swing throughout his career. I’ll never forget those three years he spent in a Baltimore Orioles uniform, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to watch him play in person a few times.
Fun fact: he’s the only Oriole ever to record a stolen base in an All-Star Game!
