Kojagara Lakshmi + Sharad Purnima An interesting Moon transit tonight.. Moon is in Revati, the final nakshatra, and enters Ashwini, the 1st nakshatra, at 7:22 PM tonight. So on Sharad Purnima itself, Moon completes the entire nakshatra cycle & begins again. also most people know about keeping kheer in moonlight.. but there is something more interesting about Kojagara itself. The Kojagara tradition says that at Nishita, Maa Lakshmi moves asking this question. निशीथे वरदा लक्ष्मीः को जागर्तीति भाषिणी Ko jagarti?.. Who is awake? Another detail many people dont know.. Kojagara remembers Maa Lakshmi along with Indra seated on Airavata. Coconut and chipitaka.. flattened rice are also mentioned in the tradition. So kheer is beautiful Sharad Purnima tradition, but it is not the only way One should light a ghee diya before Maa Lakshmi tonight and offer what is followed in ur family.. milk, kheer, coconut, poha. If u are keeping kheer under the moonlight, place it after 8:10 PM once Moon crosses the Gandanta into Ashwini. Recite Shri Suktam if u have learned it, or take Maa Lakshmi name and remain awake during Nishita kaala One practical thing I would also do tonight.. Before 7:22 PM, Moon is in Pisces and in Revati, ruled by Mercury. So clean your wallet & the place where you keep money. Remove useless receipts, expired cards, broken things kept around ur money space. And if money comes regularly but somehow never stays, open ur bank statement once tonight and look into the whole month expense while keeping Maa in mind.
