My friend is honestly so clever
After recently celebrating Van Gogh's 169th birthday, we designed a 'Starry Night' inspired basemap within #ArcGIS Online to mark the occasion. Read about the process and access the basemap in this blog: ow.ly/2AYk50IUGt2

That’s my friend 🤩
In the run up to #InternationalWomensDay, we asked our colleagues why this year's theme #BreakTheBias is important to them. Here is what Balqis had to say: Keep an eye out for more colleague responses over the next few days. #IWD2022

Resilience is a key trait for gymnasts. Not only to help them succeed within gymnastics, but also to protect their mental health. As part of my MSc in Sport & Exercise Psych I have written a guide on resilience and how to build it for coaches and parents frsportperformance.co.uk/202…

When we are seeing numerous reports of the negative mental effects that regular weigh-ins have had on children in gymnastics, figure skating and dance, why would someone think this is a good idea? Kids should be encouraged to make healthy choices, not made to feel guilty.
Should schools weigh pupils to make sure they shift the pounds they've put on during the lockdown? Health experts want two weigh-ins in September and then in the spring to keep kids on track. But could this just create a generation of calorie counters? #JeremyVine
As someone who was home educated until the age of 12/13, I believe it shouldn’t be ruled out for families who have the resources to manage it by government pressure. Following trauma, school may not be right for every child and perhaps we need to be open to other options
THREAD: School closure and kids I am an expert in child & adolescent EMERGENCY psychiatry. This is my expert opinion: It's complex, and it is not easy to answer COVID = BAD Education = GOOD In person schooling in a deadly pandemic = GOOD + BAD (context link) /1

2/ I currently work with children on a daily basis, and I am seeing with every age group how deeply affected they have been by the last months. Separation anxiety is a big thing for them and I do have concerns that forcing children back into school may cause additional stress
Some of my recent thoughts on coaches (thread) ... ❤ #gymnastalliance

Really pleased to see this from @BritGymnastics today. It’s so important to create a safe and positive environment for athletes to train and grow up in, and teaching coaches that it’s unnecessary to weigh young athletes is a step in the right direction british-gymnastics.org/news-…

Becky Downie *FINALLY* gets that world medal after a career of going for it. Well fought for and well deserved. This is the first bars medal for Great Britain since 2010, when Beth Tweddle won gold.
