Reports of Vegas' death are greatly exaggerated. While the middle class cuts back on extras, wealthy tourists keep showing up. The share of visitors from families making over $150k recently doubled. The pattern echoes what's happening across the US: thenevadaindependent.com/art…

.@AOC on "Woke 1": "What I was referring to is less the actual issues themselves, and more the culture of organizing that allows us to grow movements instead of gatekeep them."

Asked what she meant by "Woke 1.0," @AOC said it was about creating a "culture of organizing—one that is not rooted in judgment, castigation, or being closed off, or, frankly, having bars that people have to meet or else they are not acceptable."

I asked @AOC about how much she'd been involved in Nevada House races. In response, she lauded @StevenHorsford. "His commitment has been in expanding the voter base," she said. "That is a very big bright spot ... not just in the state of Nevada, but for the rest of the country."

"They want to be able to challenge the results of this election," says @StevenHorsford. "I'm going to tell you: Not on our watch."

After joining @AOC onstage, @StevenHorsford speaks about how he lost the seat in 2014: "There are lessons in losing. One of the lessons is never to take anyone or anything for granted."

"When we win with working people getting elected to Congress, when we win by busting down the the storied doors of the House and the Senate, which were typically reserved for the ruling class and the elite ... then how we legislate changes too," says @AOC of @StevenHorsford.

.@AOC is laser-focused on working class politics — including the policy the GOP has tried to spotlight here. "We know what it means when we actually fight for a real No Tax on Tips policy that @StevenHorsford actually introduced," she says. "The Trump No Tax on Tips is a farce."

"When someone tells me that, you know, everyday working people don't understand politics, I tell them that actually, the working class understands it better than almost anyone," says @AOC. "Because we live with the consequences of it every single day."

“Whenever I’m here in Las Vegas, it feels so personal to me,” says @AOC. “We know what it feels like to turn over rooms and wipe down counters.”

The crowd for here has grown to probably ~200-250. There's a mariachi band playing while we await @AOC and @StevenHorsford.

“We have a great American in @AOC coming out,” says @AaronDFordNV as he hypes up the crowd. “She’s a great fighter for the working class.”

Today, @AOC is stopping in North Las Vegas, where she's campaigning with @StevenHorsford and @AaronDFordNV. I’d guess there are ~150 people here.

I loved having the chance to interview four potential presidential candidates with Nevada Independent CEO @RalstonReports at #IndyFest2026 this week. Thank you to @AndyBeshearKY, @RoKhanna, @CaptMarkKelly and @RahmEmanuel for taking the time. Much more 2028 politics to come...

Another interesting tidbit from the latest round of campaign finance reports — Invest in Tomorrow Coalition PAC, the clean energy group behind the $2M anti-Flippo investment in #NV02, got a $1M donation early this month from Michael Bloomberg.

New — @DavidFlippoNV's campaign tells me it's putting five figures behind this digital ad with Texas Rep. @realBrandonGill. It features the House Freedom Caucus member calling TBT "one of the most radical Democratic candidates in the country right now."

3. @StevenHorsford spent a lot of money, even as most forecasters think his re-election will not be close. His biggest expenditures were a 75k donation to the state Dems and a six-figure investment in online ads. More on his digital message: thenevadaindependent.com/art…

A few things stand out to me from these reports. 1. @Teresa4Nevada got a big influx of money after she was added to the @DCCC's Red to Blue program. $264k is a large sum for a non-incumbent in two weeks, especially in a district that has rarely been considered competitive.
