The Senate and House handle leadership elections completely differently.
With so much misinformation going around, here is how the Senate Majority Leader and House Speaker are chosen:

I'm seeing Mark Ruffalo promoting a petition to block Hakeem Jeffries from becoming the next Speaker of the House, while Hasan Piker, Mehdi Hasan, George Conway, Ron Filipkowski and others are criticizing his remarks on Morning Joe yesterday.
So I have to ask: Did they actually watch his FULL interview?
🔵 Jeffries didn't dismiss accountability. He explicitly DEMANDED it.
🔵 He clearly connected Trump's corruption to the affordability crisis.
🔵 He explained how Trump's war in Iran contributed to higher gas, diesel, fertilizer and grocery costs.
🔵 And he promised congressional oversight guided by facts, law and the Constitution.
🔵 And he made the distinction between ACCOUNTABILITY and RETRIBUTION.
That distinction matters.
Democrats didn't just win an election. They made promises to millions of Americans struggling to afford groceries, housing, healthcare and basic necessities.
Now is the time to unify and deliver, not for ignorant divisiveness that weakens our collective power.
LET'S BE CLEAR: Delivering does NOT mean giving Trump or anyone else a free pass.
Jeffries was beyond clear about the below ⤵
‣ Investigate corruption.
‣ Follow the money.
‣ Issue subpoenas.
‣ Hold wrongdoers accountable.
‣ And if the evidence supports impeachment, pursue it.
But making impeachment the opening act before the new Congress even convenes? That's not a substitute for governing.
Jeffries understands that Democrats have to do BOTH.
Criticism is healthy. Holding leadership accountable is essential. But there's a difference between demanding results and undermining a prospective Speaker before he's had the opportunity to deliver.
#AffordabilityAndAccountability pave the path to the future we're all fighting for.
Not retribution. Not political theater.
Listen to what Jeffries is actually saying before attacking him. And watch the FULL FUCKING interview ⤵ before yapping your fucking traps!

🤣🤣🤣 I swear
Reporter: Do you worry that he [Abdul El-Sayed] is a bit too left wing to win in Michigan?
Black Hairstylist: “At this point, what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have. We’re on our way to hell. So at this point, socialist, socialize, social, don’t matter to me. Lower my cost of living!!” 😳😂

🔥MUST-WATCH: "Byron, just because you're talking doesn't make it accurate... you're trying to gaslight the voters... You're squishy but i can squeeze... you're gonna be a do-guy for Trump."
On @breakfastclubam the great @angela_rye grills Florida Republican governor candidate Byron Donalds on his support for policies that hurt Black folks, including racist redistricting.

We tried to tell these dumb ass white Democratic strategists that if investments are made in Black voters in the South, the payoff would be huge. But they are so fixated on white suburban women. On 11.4, it’s gonna be a reckoning for the DNC, DGA, DSCC, DCCC and Dem PACs/donors!
"By casting far more ballots than expected by strategists in either party, Black voters are fundamentally shifting the midterm landscape, nudging swing states left and making red states suddenly competitive." politico.com/news/magazine/2…

So who in the Dem party can curse Haley Stevens out real quick? Cause she needs a dragging.
Idc if you disapprove of Abdul, backing a Republican in this political climate is crazy as hell and also NOT a solution for anything you claim to care about.
What a fraud.
