Mikalaj Statkevic is a Belarusian patriot. That he won’t kowtow to the illegitimate Lukashenka regime - despite his age and health condition - tells volume about this brave man’s principles and desire to see a free Belarus.
After more than 12 years in prison, Belarusian opposition politician Mikalaj Statkevič was released. But only on condition that he leave Belarus. He refused to go into forced exile.

Let’s be honest, we hate Mao because he enslaved the Chinese people, made millions starve to death, murdered many more, all the while his puppets spread false history about his supposed ‘liberation’ of China. We hate Mao as should all freedom-loving people opposed to tyranny.
Let's be honest, the West hates Mao because he liberated Chinese people, united the country, and made it impossible to be a Western puppet. Moreover, he inspired more Asian, African, and Latin American people's anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movements. The West slanders any leader who refuses to obey them. Mao was a great strategist, revolutionist, thinker, writer and leader. Long live the great unity of the people of the world!💪

Tell that to the tens of millions of dead or murdered under this butcher
To us Chinese, Mao Zedong is our hero. Mao uplifted farmers and the working class in China, united the Chinese people, led us to defeat foreign invaders, and founded an independent country so we could all live with dignity. Mao supported the heroic struggle of the African people against imperialism and colonialism. He was one of the greatest leaders in world history, and one of the most demonized by the West.

Remember this next time some Chinese official claims that trade restrictions are unwelcome and even illegal
AFP: According to a report yesterday by the Financial Times, Japan is months away from running out of supplies of the critical rare earth yttrium, and has asked the United States for help with encouraging China to ease related export controls. Does the foreign ministry have comments on this? Mao Ning: China implements export controls on Japan in accordance with the laws and regulations. The aim is to thwart Japan’s remilitarization and attempt to possess nuclear weapons. China’s position of keeping the global industrial and supply chains of critical minerals safe and stable has not changed. All parties have the responsibility to play a constructive role to this end.

I’m sorry to my colleague, but this is just totally out of keeping with both the geopolitical and internal political reality.
EU top trade MEP Bernd Lange in Strasbourg floats defrosting the EU-China investment deal "I remember the negotiation on the CAI, the investment agreement, which is deep in the freezer. But perhaps it's useful to have a look at that, specifically regarding the investment part"

Welcomed news. But it’s important that our adversaries understand that we are developing this toolkit and will not hesitate to use it if our interests are threatened. A toolkit without political will is useless.
Confirmed: von der Leyen tells press conference following the European Council the EU will develop a new weapon to "immediately" limit access to the single market "when it's in the union's interest" The kill switch aimed at China is coming. Understand goal is to present this yr

An important lesson for European leaders hoping for access to the Chinese market and clinging on to the ‘level playing field’ mantra. While we allow Chinese tech access to key infrastructure projects, China is massively ripping out our tech.
1/ Important lesson for the EU: China is ripping 🇪🇺&🇺🇸 technology out of its existing wind farms, and the reason is security. We went through 1,686 🇨🇳 procurement documents and found evidence of a massive rip-and-replace campaign, targeting foreign controllers and software🧵

🙏🏼 My prayers are with the Holy Father
Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

I commend the Commissioner for his attempts to address Chinese market distortion. But our industry does not have until January, living off cheap Chinese promises. We’ve seen this playbook before, let’s not be fooled about.
EU-CN trade needs real rebalancing. With Minister Wang Wentao we've reached a shared understanding to:
🔹halve HEV, PHEV exports
🔹improve access to China's market
🔹further ease rare earths export licensing. A first step. I welcome the genuine engagement. We reconvene by Jan.

It has been a great honor and privilege to express my deepest gratitude to you @gahler_michael @MiriamMLex @EnginEroglu_FW @MAStrackZi for your tremendous support and #remarkable efforts to free my parents from the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China! It is thanks to your powerful actions that the European Parliament adopted the #historic EU resolution entitled “The ongoing persecution of #FalunGong in China, notably the case of Mr Ding Yuande (P9_TA(2024)0037)”. In this resolution, the European Parliament strongly urges the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to immediately and unconditionally release my father, Mr Ding Yuande, and calls on the EU and its Member States to impose #sanctions on those responsible for the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Your remarkable efforts have also contributed to the release of my father, Mr. Ding Yuande, from the #Shandong Province Prison. Your steadfast support has made a historic milestone: the European Parliament, the European Union @eu_eeas, and the German Federal Government have joined forces to advocate for the release of my father, Mr. Ding Yuande, a Chinese #farmer and #FalunGong practitioner who was targeted by the CCP’s state-led campaign to #eradicate Falun Gong. I am also deeply grateful to the European citizens, lawmakers, NGO representatives, journalists, human rights defenders and fellow Falun Gong practitioners who have signed letters of protest addressed to the Chinese Embassy in Germany and the local authorities in my hometown of #Rizhao City, Shandong Province. As a result of these collective efforts, my father was released from prison on February 27, 2026, with his prison sentence reduced by three months. No one should ever be persecuted simply for their #faith or beliefs. May the 27-year-long persecution of Falun Gong finally come to an end very soon! @gahler_michael @MiriamMLex @EnginEroglu_FW @MAStrackZi @weimers @HNeumannMEP @MarketkaG @rglucks1 @AnnaFotyga_PL @isabel_mep @FMCastaldo @svenja_hahn @ChloeRidel @MounirSatouri @berndlange @repasi @RepScottPerry @SenTedCruz @RepMcGovern @SenRickScott @RepBrianMast @RepGusBilirakis @PatRyanUC @YoungKimCA @SenRonJohnson @SenThomTillis @LtGovTX @RealBenCarson @FrankSchwabe @ArminLaschet @_ThomasRachel @ReligionBund @larscastellucci @DEonHumanRights @max_lucks @borismijatovic @JimShannonMP @DavidAltonHL @ipacglobal @CECCgov @committeeonccp @freedomhouse @WLCongress @ETAC_Global @FalunInfoCtr

Today we remember October 7 - the single worst attack against Jews since the Holocaust. Murder. Rape. Abductions. Destruction. We musn’t forget or trivialise the heinous crimes committed by Hamas, while ensuring that such acts are never repeated through durable peace.

This is what internalised postmodernism produces: erase the distinction between good and evil, then explain away aggression as the natural behaviour of great powers. Hitler’s Germany invaded Poland; Putin’s Russia invaded Ukraine. Apparently, that is simply what great powers do. By this logic, responsibility shifts to the victims for refusing to surrender. Those foolish Poles and Ukrainians, wanting to defend their ridiculous little countries. But surrender did not protect the Polish officers murdered at Katyń. They were already Soviet prisoners, disarmed and incapable of resistance, when the Soviet authorities ordered their execution. Auschwitz exposes another flaw in this reasoning. People were deported there and murdered because of who they were, above all because they were Jews- not because they had chosen to fight. Their extermination was a deliberate Nazi policy, not a consequence of their refusal to surrender. Neither surrender nor the absence of resistance guaranteed survival. Any argument that blames resistance for the loss of innocent lives must confront that fact. Carlson refuses to weigh lives saved when judging those fighting aggression, yet treats aggression itself as ordinary great-power behaviour. He demands absolute restraint from those confronting aggressors while granting the aggressors the excuse of geopolitical necessity. His logic collapses: great powers are excused for starting wars, while their victims are blamed for resisting. What a repulsive character.

I sincerely pray for this encouraging news. It’s time to #FreeJimmyLai
Jimmy Lai's name came up at last week's Trump-Xi summit. President Trump told @DailySignal he discussed political prisoners with Xi Jinping, including Jimmy. "I think we had some very, very important discussions," he said. Jimmy is 78 and has spent nearly 6 years in prison. He is serving a 20-year sentence. This is absolutely spot on from @jamiemfly. Let’s not fall for Lukashenka’s games - again. We need to remain principled and maintain pressure to ensure his illegitimate regime releases ALL political prisoners.
Recent political prisoner releases in Belarus are welcome. But more than 800 people remain arbitrarily detained, and the Lukashenka regime continues to imprison people for dissent. Freedom House CEO @jamiemfly explains why the international community cannot lose sight of those still behind bars and why a free Belarus matters for Belarusians, Ukraine, and European security. Very much agree: and political will, deterrence and implementation are the key
No more naivety on China. Europe must defend its own interests. We must strengthen trade defence instruments, diversify crucial supply chains, reduce raw material dependencies, ratify trade agreements, and boost Europe’s competitiveness at home.

Spot on from my friend @MPIainDS
The Trump / Xi summit highlights the fundamental problem the West faces with China. Trump does people. Xi does strategy. Trump believes a personal relationship can deliver a deal, whilst China looks decades ahead and never loses sight of its objective to become the world’s dominant economic and military power. lbc.co.uk/videos/2JsSfFaPPWc… While the West talks, China is building its military at an extraordinary rate, backing Russia and Iran and increasing the threat to Taiwan. Britain and Europe have allowed our defences to become dangerously weak We have relied on America for our defence for far too long, failed to invest in our own capability and diminished our influence as a result. If we want a seat at the table, we have to earn it. China has a strategy for the West and knows where it is going. The question is whether the West has the resolve to respond.
