Been refreshing our Cold War topic recently, starting with the Korean War lesson. Once again the @NAM_London have been instrumental in providing the information to bring the 'forgotten war' to life #historyteacher
A fantastic opportunity to spend the day with @HolocaustUK and their Testimony 360 programme. It was a privilege for our students to hear Manfred Goldberg tell his story. Proof that despite him not being here in person now, his life will inspire others for years to come.

Trying to build on independent research skills with KS3 at the moment. Year 8 produced some superb research pages on the Pendle Witches with thanks to @HistoryHit
First half term as LHA's Cultural Capital lead! Focus for this year is on the development of a Year 7 transition programme as part of our Ready to Thrive sessions for form time. Our pathway aims to equip our 7s with skills for learning and life, with aspirations at the centre.
Its been a whirlwind few weeks recently, but still always time to try new things. Redeveloped a rather dry agricultural revolution lesson thanks to ideas from the twittersphere. So much more engaging and fun with students brining their creativity.

Anti-racism education should be embedded year-round and is needed more than ever with growing far-right narratives and violence on our streets. Educators must address increasing overt racism and Islamophobia, and the fear that many Black pupils and colleagues are experiencing. #BHM25

One minute you're a fresh faced ECT, the next you're being asked to mentor ITTs next year. Where has the time gone?!
A week on from our VE Day celebrations with KS3. Lots of stories shared about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, with help from @BBC_ARoadshow and their VE Day special. Each object opened an amazing story that had our students hooked #historyteacher
Finally got round to being creative this week! Nice little MQS knowledge organiser for Year 11.

A slow crawl to the end of term made slightly easier after year 11 spotting a duck in this Nazi-Soviet Pact source. I mean I did ask them what they could see tbf 🤣 #historyteacher
Refreshed Year 9's Battle of Britain lesson with help from the IWM and RAF museum and their brilliant online resources! Students slowly starting to get to grips with the chronology of WW2 now 🎉 #historyteacher

Merseyside Scouts are deeply saddened by the tragic events that have occurred in Southport today.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this incident.
And just like that, my ECT years are done. I'm a fully fledged teacher now! Huge thank you to all who have given support through the last 3 years.
Onto the next chapter
