Friendliest service ever from Josh @StarbucksUK at Liverpool Lime Street just now. Making conversation with everyone and even getting on-the-go language lessons so that he could say hello to a Latvian customer. A credit to @Starbucks and to Liverpool.

This isnt an offer from Government it is an insult. £1000 non-consolidated. 4.5% in September AND UNFUNDED! I will be voting to REJECT. No more pay cuts! A teacher in 6th year: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 £48.5k (from Jan) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 £44K (from Sept) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 £39K Vote no! Full funding and parity is what we need

It's time to act @GillianKeegan! As a member of the @NEUnion, I took action this week to #SaveOurSchools. It's time for you to get around the table and offer the pay rise teachers deserve. #PayUp

Personally, I am fully vaccinated and very pro-vaccination. I am, however, finding it SO frustrating to see talk of mandating teacher vaccines when there was absolutely no rush to prioritise them for teachers in any way in the first place.

Last week we got married and right now we are spending a fortnight in Jamaica 🥰 No idea how we got so lucky but it’s holding off the Year 6 —> Year 1 panic for a few more days!

I’ll be moving from Year 6 down to Year 1 in September. I’m so excited for so many reasons but also totally terrified! Any major tips for the first week? What should I get these little people to do in that first week?! 🤷🏼‍♀️ 📚 ✏️

We are off on a residential tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited to get these kids out on an adventure like they deserve! No back-to-work blues here ☺️
I wonder how much money is being spent on scaremongering the general public instead of on getting more mobile vaccination sites out and about to them..... #Covid19UK
They always know when they’re needed ❤️
Started a bit of post half-term planning today. I am actually loving using the Ready To Progress curriculum in maths and devoting more time to those elements that really support the children’s understanding and future learning.
Wedding suits all sorted, lunch date in the sun, moved my 2nd vaccination forward to tomorrow, a PCR test as cases are up in my area, a bit of piano practice and topping it all off with an evening back at the cinema. Also 0 work done. A good (and very 2020/21) half term day! ☀️

1/2....Over the past couple of years we have ‘squeezed in’ a non-negotiable 20 minute end-of-day read in all year groups. I would actually love to get that time back for a foundation subject and then have a bonus half hour for reading too!

2/2 But this government is so untrustworthy that we KNOW the funding and support for the extra workload would not be there and that over time this would become the ‘norm’ and just another demand placed on overworked teachers.

I could start writing reports. Or........
If you're in or around Leicester (city), are 18+, and want your first dose of Pfizer, we have tons available over at the Fosse Neighborhood Centre (LE3 5HG), and no queue, so pop along ASAP and we'll get you vaccinated 💖 RTs appreciated 💉💪

Articles like this - with headlines suggesting that schools AREN’T trying to do this anyway - really wind me up. 😤
