If you ever feel your breath getting quicker and out of control, hand breathing can be helpful way to calm down.

asked a Sufi Mystic.
The emperor, a man of power, was proud of his piety.
He replied "I pray, fast, and donate generously. Surely, God must hold me in favor."
The Sufi asked, "Is it joy or obligation driving your actions?"
The emperor, taken aback, confessed, "Obligation. I am a devout believer."
The Sufi's next request was simple. "A glass of water, please."
The water arrived.
He held the glass up to the light, then turned to the emperor, "Imagine yourself in a desert, thirsty. What would this water mean to you?"
"It would be a jewel," the emperor admitted, "A joy, a relief."
The Sufi smiled:
"And that's prayer.
Not an obligation, but a joy, a relief.
We're not doing God a favour by praying.
He's doing us a favour by giving us the chance to connect. To quench our spiritual thirst."
