17 dead coyotes now since this ordeal within 1.5 miles of the place. They seem less “thick” now.
Happy last day of National dead calf month to those who celebrate. Knock on wood, as there is still all day, but if it wasn’t for the coyotes raising a little hell we got pretty darn lucky this year.
Wife got me some questionable looking fleece lined jeans for my birthday. I heckled her all weekend about it. But they sure are coming in clutch today.
We’ve got one brave group of young coyotes around here this fall. They come in at night and fuck with fresh weaned calves.
We now have had 2 broken legs and 2 calves get their sides ripped open by running into something in the pens.
Never had this much problem with yotes

It’s a lot of work to be addicted to watching cattle grow.
Spent the day putting up silage, cracking high moisture corn, trading some futures and unloading bawlers in the dark.
There’s got to be “easier” things to be addicted to.
First load of video cattle come today. Got to get them before October. After all, if they come in October, I’ve heard they are as good as dead.
Mowed some weeds this morning and this is on the mower deck. Idk what those bugs are but that’s gross.
I think a person would be sick if you could put a number to how much black birds stole out of the fields.
What time today will the headline come out that has been traded the last 2 days by the administration?

Had a combine with tracks on it stuck right by that +6.80. It wasn’t dry this spring either, then too much water kept coming. It’s not fun to have too much water either.
That spring wheat is going to have to stay where it is for a while.
The @NDAWNmesonet Gardner station is now more than 10 inches below average since May 1. I also included the precipitation graph since January 1 for a reference.
