Spence Sims is one of the premier young shooters in college basketball and is taking his talents to Winthrop Eagles men's basketball next season. As a freshman, the 6’1” guard averaged: 9.9 PPG 1.9 REB 0.8 AST • Big South Freshman of the Year • 71 made threes • 43% from beyond the arc Sims was absolutely dynamite from deep this season and already possesses one of the most advanced shooting skillsets in the conference. He can knock down shots in a variety of ways, whether it’s catch-and-shoot opportunities, coming off screens, pulling up off the dribble, or attacking hard closeouts. One of his best performances of the season came against his future team, Winthrop, where he exploded for 29 points and 7 made threes. With his movement shooting, confidence, and ability to stretch defenses, Sims should remain one of the most dangerous perimeter threats in the Big South, if not the entire country. Elite shooter heading to Winthrop. @SpenceSims1
