Rabbi Yisroel Rubin, 78, Innovative Scholar Who Led Chabad in New York’s Capital Region.
When Rabbi Y Rubin got to Albany in 1974, he didn’t even begin with a synagogue or a community center. He went with matchbooks and a hot dog cart.
In time, he spearheaded the establishment of more than a dozen Chabad centers:

This is a different kind of book: Part memoir of a transformative relationship cut short by the violent terror attack on the Bondi Beach Menorah lighting. Part transformative guide to how we can all live holier lives, individually and collectively.
Intimate, raw, and full of insight, these are conversations you will not only want to listen in on, but also continue with your own friends and family members.

The Jews defeated Haman in ancient Persia on Purim. The current war in Iran began on Shabbat Zachor and continued through Purim. As we head into Passover, is any of this a coincidence? New from me @Chabad chabad.org/library/article_c…

Before kabbolas shabbos this week, I repeated this maamer in my own words. The shul rabbi (also my neighbor of ten yrs) listened closely throughout, but at the end he said, "I learned a completely different maamer."

If to speak of G‑d is to speak in parables, perhaps we can never really speak of G‑d at all?

Tonight for the first time in my life I lit Chanukah candles. I was given them by my local rabbi who told me and those gathered at a celebration of the festival of lights that “in the dark there is always light”. Those gathered were protected by security guards & the police. When a siren went off nearby people looked terrified. It was just a fire engine being called out.
We will explore the fear, the hurt and, yes, the rage felt in the Jewish community on @BBCr4today tomorrow morning. (Apologies for earlier typos)
