Those who voted never knew this stats. All they knew was world cup clean sheets 😕
🚨 𝗡𝗘𝗪: David Raya kept 20 more clean sheets and conceded 42 fewer goals than Unai Simon last season.
🇪🇸 Unai Simon
• 46 appearances
• 8 clean sheets
• 73 goals conceded
🇪🇸 David Raya
• 51 appearances
• 28 clean sheets
• 31 goals conceded
Despite the statistical difference, Raya still lost the Yashin Trophy to Simon.

Unai Simon, return the yashin trophy 😊
🚨🇪🇸 Iker Casillas on Unai Simón winning the 2026 Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year award:
🗣️ “I have to be honest, Unai Simón is a very good goalkeeper, but David Raya deserved this award more. You cannot call someone the best goalkeeper in the world based on a few World Cup performances alone.
Raya won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final. Unai Simón had a good World Cup, but are we really going to ignore an entire season of football because of eight games?
If the award is based mainly on the World Cup, then why not just call it the World Cup Goalkeeper of the Year? Simón didn’t even win La Liga’s Best Goalkeeper award or make the Team of the Season.
And if winning the World Cup is enough to decide individual awards, then why didn’t Lamine Yamal win the Ballon d’Or? You have to be consistent. These awards should recognise a player’s performances across the season, not just a few weeks at one tournament.”

The true deserving winner of the Ballon D'or should have been Kvarasthkelia, Messi or a world cup winner 😒

Looking at the way they vote, I'm not surprised Ronaldo has 5 Ballon D'ors

People only felt he has been through a lot at Tottenham and decided to vote for him out of sympathy.
He was only impactful in Bundesliga 😕.
I prefer not to talk much

They gave the best goalkeeper award to a world cup winner. But did not give the Ballon Dor to a world cup winner.
Those with sense, come and explain 😕
