On Saturday night, the NYC mayor and the NBA rookie sat down for iftar at a Senegalese restaurant in Harlem. “Mo and I have never met before, but just by the simple act of knowing we are both fasting we have a connection,” the mayor said. gq.com/story/nyc-mayor-zohra…
Thank you for this moment and the welcome mayor !🙏🏾
Welcomed Mohamed Diawara to New York last night over iftar in Harlem — then we headed to Marcus Garvey Park to shoot around.
Mo grew up in Paris and now, at just 20, is playing forward for the New York Knicks — all while fasting during Ramadan.
A few shots in, it became clear why Knicks fans are starting to call him “3awara.”
I’ll keep my day job. Welcome to New York, Mo!

I can't stop thinking about the tragic events unfolding in Minnesota, and even though I'm French, I can't remain silent. What's happening is beyond comprehension. We're talking about murders here, these are serious matters. The situation must change, the government must stop operating in this way. I stand with Minnesota 🙏🏾🖤
