Day 4 of 30 @boardyai offered me two call times for the second intro and I said no The intro itself went out yesterday One email to both of us saying what each of us does Then it floated two slots and asked me to pick I said send them my discovery call link instead I'm in London Most of my clients are in America Two proposed times turns into "does 3pm work your end" turns into "can we push to Thursday" turns into a week of email and someone who's quietly lost interest So that stopped before it started They've got my 20 minute link Short intake form asking what they do and where they're struggling They pick whatever suits them I didn't DM them I didn't chase I didn't juggle my diary I block out time for sales calls every week, so availability was never the problem Converting the calls is the problem So the less faff between hello and the call, the better Now the shit bit It's not booked They're not a client The other person I've already spoken to asked about working together and we're meeting again this week No offer decided yet So that's two conversations moving and zero clients And I'm away from 23 November, so it's really less than three weeks, not 26 days Peace ✌️ PS - Every back and forth about meeting times is another chance for them to change their mind. Your world revolves around you The world doesn’t That’s the bit people keep getting wrong You’re worried about: Your fears Your confidence Your pricing Your content Your success Meanwhile, your customer is thinking: Why the fuck should I care? You don’t care about their success? Fine Don’t expect them to care about yours Business is not therapy The market is watching And she has a very low tolerance for bullshit Do proper work Solve real problems Deliver what you said you would Make something worth paying for Because incompetence does not survive forever Shit coffee shop? Gone Shit service? Gone Shit product? Eventually gone You can bluff for a while You can hide behind branding You can polish the content You can talk a magnificent game But sooner or later the market finds out whether you’re actually any fucking good And when she does? She rewards the people doing the work And flushes the turds Capeesh 🤌 PS- Shit service does eventually meet shit consequences

If your business makes you miserable but looks successful on Instagram, congratulations on your very expensive fucking photoshoot.

I love being able to choose where I work. I just wish more beautiful locations understood the importance of plug sockets.

If your business can't function without you checking your phone every 11 minutes, you've built yourself a very expensive electronic ankle tag.

Being a solopreneur means your business can be as complicated as you want. Which is why I recommend not being a fucking idiot about it.

I don't want to be my own boss so I can work 80 hours a week. I want to be my own boss so I can decide which 40 hours are worth working.

Day 3 of 30 The people who already got burned say yes fastest Heard that this week and it's been rattling around my head since Because it sounds backwards You'd think getting stung would make you more careful But look at the one person I've got so far A coach with three decades of experience Referral sources all retired Already paid a LinkedIn consultant earlier this year Got nothing for it Think about what that person doesn't need from me They don't need convincing the problem is real They've already spent money proving it to themselves They don't need my methodology either I said it yesterday, nobody cares about your revolutionary methodology They've got one question Will it work this time That's a much shorter conversation than trying to persuade someone who's never had a go that LinkedIn is worth bothering with Now the shit bit Faster isn't paid They're not a client Not yet And one name is not a pipeline My posting and webinar bring in 6 to 10 prospects a year I need about 6 qualified calls a week So no victory lap 27 days to go Peace ✌️ PS - If you've already paid someone to fix your LinkedIn and it didn't work, you're not a harder sell. You're just done being sold to

People are terrified of being salesy but perfectly comfortable posting 37 inspirational quotes nobody asked for.
33
Your ideal client isn't a demographic. It's someone with a problem, money and the willingness to do something about it.
22
Some people are so busy building their personal brand they've forgotten they're supposed to be selling something.
23
Your prospects don't care about your revolutionary methodology. They care whether you can fix the thing that's pissing them off.

Day 2 of 30 Within a couple of hours of posting day 1, @boardyai had pointed the first person my way A coach with three decades of experience Every one of their referral sources has retired over the last few years And they'd already paid a LinkedIn consultant earlier this year For nothing That's exactly who I meant when I said people already asking for help I didn't DM them I didn't chase them They put their hand up first For context, my daily posting and monthly webinar bring in 6 to 10 of these A year This was one in a couple of hours One person isn't a trend And it's not a client yet But it's the first time in a while I got a properly qualified conversation without sending a single message myself Peace ✌️ PS - Thirty years of referrals and then everyone retires. Your network has a retirement date too, plan accordingly

I don't need a business with 200 employees. I need one that makes enough money for me to enjoy the other 16 hours of my day.

Some people measure success in headcount. I measure it in how often I can say yes to something without checking my calendar.

Day 1 of 30 I post on LinkedIn every day I run a free webinar every month Combined, that brings in 6 to 10 inbound prospects A year A YEAR The business is at about $50k a month right now I want $100k That's roughly 10 new clients a month Which means about 6 booked calls a week with properly qualified people My outreach works The problem is I'm the one doing all of it Sending the messages Chasing the follow ups Booking the calls I'm at capacity on my own two thumbs And I'm not buying ads or spamming promo posts to fix it So for the next 30 days @boardyai is scouting its network for people who are actually asking for help with LinkedIn, getting better clients or making money on the platform And pointing the right ones my way I'll post how it's going here every day The good bits and the shit bits Peace ✌️ PS - If this works I'll be insufferable. If it doesn't, enjoy 29 more days of me pretending it's fine

People talk about work-life balance like it's a complicated mathematical equation. It's your life. Stop giving work all the good bits.

The beauty of being a solopreneur is that I can work from anywhere. The downside is that I now judge countries by their WiFi and pastry selection.

The human brain will forget an important appointment but remember one rude comment from 2012 in 4K.
