// High-key, I try to avoid writing out combat stuff with Radia here, not just because itโs difficult for me, but also because at the Cultureโs level of technology, any โregularโ fights between individuals are basically nonexistent.
That, and Radia would rather enjoy a nice spot of tea with guests instead.

Within a certain purview this is how I've tried to approach my Union related Lancer art. Without overly glorifying it, violence is a fundamental component of opposing fascism. Union being space gay socialists doesn't preclude the readiness to protect their ideals.
// A โmereโ Culture GCU can still waste a planet easily, despite how small it is. A GSV can OBLITERATE the entire Sol system with similarly little effort. FRAK NO, Iโm not winning.

// A hopefully illustrative set of pictures on the Cultureโs General Systems Vehicles for @Namelesshimekoo, @divineviscera and @NaughtsOrigin
Their classes can vary in size and population, but each and every one can be considered โThe Culture in microcosmโ, able to rebuild the entire Culture from scratch in the event of catastrophe. They are all equal parts mobile megacities, universities, libraries, factories, shipyards, fleet supercarriers and more.
Radia is a System-class GSV, the newest and largest of them, so she holds over 10 billion onboard inhabitants on average. Should she wish, she can manufacture smaller, lesser classes of GSVs of her own.
// Additionally, there are actually two important components for every Culture vessel down to the smallest GCU (General Contact Unit), but especially so for GSVs; the physical hull (or hulls), and the larger, intangible multi-layered, multi-capability field envelope(s) enclosing it/them. This mesh of various projected fields is as much a part of the Ship's control area as the actual hull is.
Take a Plate-class GSV for example, an older type. While it is 'only' 50+ km in length with regards to its physical hull, with its field envelope it extends even further to 90-100 km in length.
In Radia's case, since she is a System-class, the 200 km measurement of her size is the barest, most conservative estimate. In actual fact, she would be larger than even that.
There is actually a third vital component for all Culture ships, the Mind core, or cores, but that can be handled in a later reply series.
// I promised an elaboration on Minds as a Part 3, so here it is.
Within every Ship, Orbital or other types of inhabited installation in the Culture, is a Mind (or in some cases, Minds), inhabiting a hyper-advanced egg-like computing core (or cores, as the case may be).
As post-Singularity artificial intelligences, the Minds of the Culture are its foremost administrative, caretaking and guardian entities for its many trillions of biological and robotic citizens, keeping their post-scarcity civilisation running while also ensuring their lives are fulfilled and happy as best they can.
In practical terms, every Mind is their own individual citizen, each and every Ship or installation a sapient being. Ship Minds, in particular, choose their own names.
Minds may start out small, relatively speaking, in their cores, but they quickly expand and then relocate the majority of their processing hardware beyond their material core, into hyperspace, where their computational capabilities can exceed the lightspeed limit.
Though the metaphor might work poorly in Star Rail terms, each and every Mind (Radia included) is akin to a Nous that stands upon the threshold of ascension to full Aeonhood, but never crossing it. One foot staying in the material plane, with the other in the transcendent beyond.
The use of various avatars by Minds to communicate and interact with normal people is a practical necessity, requiring only a minute, insignificant portion of their computing power. (Communications between Minds, however, are of an exponentially greater complexity and information density.)
The bulk of their processing power is actually spent on internal simulations of many kinds purely for fun, typically exotic models of universal physics or sometimes simulations of civilisations (not unlike the Amphoreus situation, but on far greater scopes).
As a matter of fact, these simulated civs are kept running and never shut down, as Minds consider them as equally alive as realspace individuals, and therefore equally deserving of life and happiness.
