The Comets (28-1) were held to just 7-for-42 shooting against the Macks, who have played at state for three straight seasons. This was Albany's first-ever trip to state in girls basketball. themonroetimes.com/sports-2/…

Likely the final media timeout. 53-14 Macks lead, 6:47 remaining. Overall, a great season by the Albany Comets. Just going to come up a tad short. #wisgb

Alana Durtschi hits a 3, but the Macks advantage sits at 49-14 with 11:22 left. #wisgb

Not the start to the second half Albany needed. Macks open on a 10-0 run and now leas 45-11. This … might be over already for the Comets. 14:57 left. #wisgb

Abby Hollis leads Albany with 5 points. Aubrey Dorn has 9 for the Macks, with two teammates adding 8. Comets just 4x19 from the field and 1x11 from deep. Macks 16x30 from the field and 2x8 from 3-pt. Macks also lead in rebounds 17-11. #wisgb

Halftime. McDonell leads Albany 35-11, showing for at least 18 min why they are the No. 1 seed despite the Comets’ unblemished W-L record. Still 18 min to play, & if Albany can shore up the hesitation & turnovers, & go back to knocking down 40% from 3, they have a shot #wisgb

Abby Hollis drains one from the corner, and the Comets final have a triple. Macks lead 29-11, 4:47 left in the first. Full timeout, Albany #wisgb

Media timeout, 6:34, Macks lead 24-6. Comets still looking for the first 3-pt shot to fall. They shot 43.7% this season on 382 attempts. Somewhat similar to Black Hawk in 2018, minus the score. #wisgb

9:14 left in the first half, and Abby Hollis snd Gracie Freitag each have two fouls for Albany.

Second media timeout at 10:44, and it couldn’t come at a better time for Albany. The Comets look discombobulated, and nervous. Macks are using strong pressure to create turnovers and are dominating the boards right now. 17-4 Macks lead. #wisgb

First TV timeout of the game exactly 3 minutes in, and the Macks hold a 6-0 lead. #wisgb
