TODAY @MontCoCERT hosted a public training event at PSHQ @GburgMD Participants learned about staying safe while helping in an emergency, how to make a good 911 call & how to safely assist at the scene of an auto accident. Attendees also learned & practiced hands only CPR.

CONGRATS - Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service @MontgomeryCoMD @mcfrs announces @MontCoCERT has been awarded the prestigious International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) 2023 Technology & Innovation Programmatic Award for Virtual Emergency Response Team (VERT).
It has been a very hot and busy week here at Montgomery CERT. Here are a couple of rehab missions we assisted at over the past week:
Tuesday, July 25 & July 28. CERT 700 unit was on hand for both events.
Kudos to our amazing volunteers who assisted at our rehab missions.
Tuesday, August 1: Montgomery County CERT was at the National Night Out in Olney. It was a beautiful evening and a well-attended event, with long lines forming of kids (and their parents) to get a close look at CERT 700!

Update (145p) 11800blk Goodloe Rd, fire is out, ~40 @mcfrs FFs remain on scene (extensive overhaul), no civilian injuries, at least 1 FF being evaluated (NLT), 1 family displaced, significant damage, origin/cause TBD
Yesterday, our Montgomery CERT Go Team volunteers were onsite with the CERT 700 apparatus to assist with the Olney Days Party in the Park celebration.
