Behold, the first ripe #strawberry of the season. Too bad some other little bugger got to it before us. Oh what the heck, let's take a bite anyways. Don't judge us, we couldn't help ourselves to this sweet delight. #organicstrawberries #organicberries #moonvalleyorganics

For those on our farm who can't handle a little heat, we've also got sweet peppers which will make a great addition to salads in the summer. #sweetpeppers #organicbellpeppers #bellpeppers #organicproduce #organicfarming #moonvalleyorganics

In addition to its natural luxurious fragrance and that it provides a source of #nectar for #bees, #rosehips also has medicinal properties. We use rose hip oil in our #Eczacalm and #HerbalHeal, which is used to help with scars and fine line wrinkles. #savethebees #feedthebees

With the weather warming up, we can now transplant our hot peppers into the ground. Here, we have the #jalapeño amongst our other hot pepper varieties. These jalapeños will be great for roasting or to settle disputes on the farm in what some know as a chili eating contest.

Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater. Well, honey eater actually. Typically, bees will find #nectar on a multitude of wild flowers, and on trees and shrubs. As we've been cleaning out our bee boxes, the bees find their way to our stashes of #honey from last year's colonies.

Our #calendula is finally out of the greenhouse and in the soil. We get to hand over our hard work to mother nature. It won't be long before these flowers grow to be waist height and full of bright orange blossoms. #organiccalendula #organicskincare #moonvalleyorganics

Although we absolutely love our herbs and skincare products, nothing is more exciting than anticipating the first #strawberry of the season coming out of our farm garden. Cheers to summer! #organicstrawberries #organicfruit #yum #yummy #organicfarming #moonvalleyorganics

Two of our WWOOFers having a great time harvesting #plantain herbs for our products. It's easy to smile when you're with farm friends. #plantain #plantainherbs #organicplantainherbs #organicskincare #organicfarming #moonvalleyorganics

Our freshly harvested #organiccomfrey shows its vitality on a beautiful afternoon. Traditionally, comfrey has been used to heal and revitalize the skin effectively. Today, we use comfrey in almost all of our products. #organicfarming #organicskincare #moonvalleyorganics

Can you hear that buzz? That's the sound of #bees collecting #nectar on a flowering chestnut tree. Although the variety of chestnut we grow is not very tasty for humans, the bees absolutely love to feed on the flowers. #organicchestnuttrees #savethebees #moonvalleyorganics

As we prepare our fields, sometimes we come across nice surprises like massive beautiful organic carrots that over wintered from last season. #carrots #organiccarrots #organicfarming #organicfood #farmlife #beautifulfood #moonvalleyorganics

We are so lucky to be able to wildcraft #horsetail right here on our farm where it grows naturally. Since we are certified #organic by the USDA, the wild plants we #harvest are clean and the environment they are growing in is protected. We use horsetail in our Herbal Heal.

It's always exciting this time of year because so much is changing here on the farm. Mowing in the cover crop and plowing the fields is essential to returning all the natural tilth to the fields for this year's herb crops. #farmlife #tilth #mowing #moonvalleyorganics

Do you remember those little quirky calendula seeds we posted about a few weeks ago? Well look at what they've become. We are looking to forward to filling our fields with their royal orange-yellow flowers. #organiccalendula #herbalcare #moonvalleyorganics

These potatoes are from last year's harvest. We've been enjoying them throughout the winter thanks to our root cellar where we store the food we grow like garlic, carrots, pumpkins, and of course potatoes, all electricity free. #organicpotatoes #rootcellar #moonvalleyorganics

Founder Aaron teaches a WWOOFer how to transplant stinging nettle from the field. We use nettle in our Oatmeal Sage soap bars because we love its astringent properties and that it works wonders with eczema. #ediblemedicine #stingingnettle #herbalcare #moonvalleyorganics

Photographed is our baby chamomile plants. This chamomile will eventually be planted, harvested and dried to be used in our organic teas. We love chamomile for its many health benefits. #chamomile #organicchamomile #chamomiletea #organictea #moonvalleyorganics

We here at Moon Valley Organics love our handsome dandelions because they are one of the first foods for bees. At our farm, we don't mow these blossoms until their bloom is complete. #dandelions #organicdandelions #edibleflowers #savethebees #beeflowers #moonvalleyorganics
