This year I worked across multiple levels and roles in football and watched even more. With that said, here is a thread of my observations/thoughts, and what I will be thinking about moving forward.
As always, I'd love to hear others thoughts, so lets begin...🧵
The 4th vs SEA and full game vs JAX were ugly, but Drake has really settled in with new cast of characters.
The accuracy (especially vertically) remains elite for the position, which is very encouraging
Most pass yards lost due to drops on deep passes (20+ air yds) this season, per @NextGenStats:
1. Drake Maye - 157
2. Jordan Love - 66
3. Cam Ward - 53
4. Josh Allen - 51
5. Trevor Lawrence - 46
Fun theory. Here is my take:
The NFL is trying to build familiarity with fans towards teams they may not see otherwise/
"Oh that Caleb Williams guy is fun"
Instead of seeing him once in 9 weeks, you get to "look forward" to seeing him again next week.
Builds cross-market fans

With coverage disguise dominating the NFL these days, I wanted to take a deeper look into the Safety position.
What are Safeties, what do they do, and why do we constantly get them wrong?

Game thoughts:
Drake played well minus 1 throw that wasn't a terrible decision but poorly placed.
Need to see if he was passing up stuff in Q1 or the calls just weren't good.
Early pff grading has NE with 16 missed tackles. Hard to win that way.
Caleb was a superstar.

Through the first 6 weeks, Travis Hunter is easily my favorite player to watch on defense.
Part of what makes him so good is that he “breaks” QB rules when in coverage.
You can’t throw at his back and you can’t throw with him trailing and eyes towards you, because its all bait
Been a while since i’ve tweeted. Hope all of y’all are doing well.
Prob will put out some Patriots (and broader football) thoughts soon
This is the first World Series since 1980 (Phillies vs Royals) where neither team has World Series win.
The other times:
1920 Indians vs Brooklyn Robins
1907 Cubs vs Tigers
1906 White Sox vs Cubs
1905 NY Giants vs Philadelphia A's
1903 Boston Americans vs Pirates (first WS)
Remaining needs for NE:
TE2 (please some athleticism)
LB4 (with Gibbens out, Muma competing with KJ Britt, but both are true STers).
SAF4 (Pettus 3rd; Maybe Mapu there full-time?)
Swing tackle
EDGE3/4 (Ponder/Swinson currently)
IDL3/4
RB3
Cherry on top: Top WR

ICYMI, Gregg Williams joined us last week on the Make Defense Great Again podcast. Here is his story about how he got Jon Gruden drunk, had him reveal a weakness in their defense, and the call he created to take advantage of it. Spoiler: it's called "Chucky."
@CoachGreggSB44 @BarstoolGruden @BarstoolBigCat @PFTCommenter
Grass:
Slower acceleration (Top speed often multiple MPH lower), tougher reactionary movement (defense). Pass rush is slower (power rushing >), man coverage is tougher, and short striders thrive.
Pass windows are larger!!
