Sia is out of surgery. It was complicated.
She responded to meds when her BP crashed. She is still critical.
We have to wait for lab results. Multiple samples, masses, biopsies were taken from her liver. One small piece of fabric was removed from her small intestine. She needs improve enough to get her GI tube out to come home.
Her recovery is guarded for the next week for post op complications.
Sia would have died within hours without the surgery. No question about it.
Her bill was put on credit. I do not have the most current total. Because of the lengthly and complicated surgery, it may be more than originally estimated.

Sia has been upgraded to critical condition. She’s going into emergency surgery. Dr went from calm concern to very concerned. Blood work is poor overall. Belly is full of fluid. Liver numbers are high. Very high.
The bill has gone higher. From what I could cover, $3 - 4K, to $5 - 8k.

It’s not just a hotspot. She has a raging UTI trying to infect her kidneys. She doesn’t have full sensation, but she has some down there and she licked herself raw. Putting a diaper on her was the worst thing I could’ve done. The bacteria in her urine was trapped & attacked her skin. She also has crystals that suggest a phenomenon called FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis). Even though we took away her Pain by taking off her legs there is no cure for Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) or FIC. The nerves do not always talk to the bladder. The bladder loses the ability to function. This causes both infections and crystals. She needs more than antibiotics (already started.) She needs hyperbaric oxygen therapy. She is signed up for five sessions at $115 per trip, starting tomorrow. We will reassess daily with the doctors with additional testing in two weeks when her meds are finished.
CES is extremely rare as is a bipedal cat. This is all new to us and we learned a whole bunch today. We are all comfortable with the plan we made.

Many of you know about the rough August I've had and the challenge I'm facing. I have Stage 3 Colon Cancer. I'm stubborn and tough and plan on beating it. 🙏I'm sharing just to encourage everyone 45-50 to get a colonoscopy. Don't trust other "tests" to be 100% accurate.
