Two of our Overwatch players used the lab for their demonstration speeches in Public Speaking. Just one example of how Esports and Video Games go beyond just playing and connect to other areas of learning and education.
An amazing final Overwatch practice before the competitive season begins! Played some practice maps against two different schools and won all of them! Excited to see what they do this season.

The SSBU Crew Premier team had its first scrimmage today against Marion Steele High School (Amherst, OH). It was a good practice to get back into the competitive mindset for the start of the season.
Individual team practices started this week. Up first - Overwatch. I have been playing this game since it released 10 years ago. Seeing them playing and communicating and winning their final match today is exciting. Can't wait for the competitive season to start in 2 weeks!
Support the Esports team Game-a-Thon on Saturday. Students will be spending the day playing games and working on various team building skills while raising money for the team. Contact me at the high school if you would like to donate to the fundraiser!
Brought a little bit of Esports to Fall Fest today! Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 were a hit.
This is what's Esports is about! Teamwork and communication. Students who may not have talked before were working together at our first open play. Some were trying new games and others were coaching them on how to play. Looking forward to the competitive season!
One step closer for our PC teams!! Game installation begins next week. Who's excited?!
Have a student in grades 9-12 interested in Esports? Come to the meeting on September 1 at 6pm in the commons to get all the details!
One step closer to having the PC side of the team up and running! Spent today working on unboxing all the PCs and getting everything hooked up.
Sheridan Esports Season 2 will be here before you know it! Open play begins Sept. 28, official practices start Oct 26, and the Esports Ohio season begins November 9! Plus, a sneak peek of the lab!
Almost ready for 9th grade orientation! Nintendo area is mostly done until I can come up with some creative furniture solutions (didn't get the grant I was hoping for). I also really like the new PC desks I ordered. Will definitely have to add more as funds allow.
Excited for the opportunity to serve the league as an Advisory Board member! :)
