Yeah, it was and is. We had a huge group, wanting a change to the PUD; not to stop it. We testified at the City council meetings, I filed some legal paper (don’t remember the name) that stopped the PUD and withdrew it with “promised concessions” that they ignored. I had a City Council member on the phone while my neighbors told me they were bulldozing the trees they promised would be left alone. She told me to stop them. Lol HOW? They lied and bulldozed old growth trees, pecans and Oaks, that were to block the light “pollution” for my neighbors down the street.

I don’t think they give direct payments, but I know “deals” are worked. We’d been trying to vacate an alley for decades, AL Power said no. A huge new Publix and surrounding shops were proposed; we were against it because it was too close to our homes. It was BIG money for AL Power. It was approved and a member of the local planning commission “just happened” to secure a lot for himself, blocking the alley access. That PC member moved a home on the lot for his son. POOF! Alley vacated. Lines for the five homes now blocked on that grid down the alley, magically had our power lines buried underground, at the expense of @alabamapower They’re crooked as a creek in the woods.
