Awesome to see so many local athletes honored at the Salute to Champions Gala, including Adrian Morejon (interpreter: Ruben Niebla!), Anders Dreyer, Barry Zito and Stephen Strasburg. Always a blast listening to them talk shop with one another (plus a lot of surfing talk 😉)

#Padres get bats, a catcher, a closer, pitching, and some depth in trade deadline. They move De Vries, Kolek, Bergert, as well as many other minor leaguers. The cost is high, but Preller’s strategy has always been “win now.” How it affects the future is to be determined.
