I’ve been back in the hobby for six years now and have noticed there are collectors who only buy during bull runs (ie - FOMO-driven), and then there are collectors who always buy. The latter are those that level up the most in the hobby.
@MrFourToEight started collecting on PBC during a bull run, but he just landed two of the most important cards in his collection this week at a time when the market has softened. The conviction to buy when others won’t is where the real value lies.

The man who introduced me to Panini Blockchain… worth the read if you’re into collecting!
A brief history of #PaniniBlockchain:
1. OG100 and those Prizm auto patch/logo:
OG100 first 100 minted with National Treasures/NT brand.
Prizm auto patch is BC exclusive and really combined best of 2000s with best of 2010s.
The release method is Dutch auction where Panini is first to do Dutch auction in crypto also physical drop.
2. then what comes next in tier of importance is a matter of opinions, whether
- it's preprizm which comes from highest end physical products, cost to get each card is high and contains auto patches which these days often sell for mid high 6 figure or even 7 figure if physical. Or,
- BC packpulled shiny cards, which is led by Prizm and followed closely by Select, Mosaic and Optic.
In the first category/bulletpoint, there are RPA for right rookie class or first base card on chain in Flawless base and many nice shield/logo auto in NT, Flawless and Immaculate and also auto patch parallel of it.
In the second category, it has to start with prizm debut red /3 and green /2, which are first ever BC native packpulls, then iterations of Prizm product S1 to S4-5.
3. Can include some challenge and craft cards, which Prizm variation image (BC exclusive) and Kaboom gold were originally born. The latter comes from rich content product, best of, which the following completed LeBron Nameplate also originated.
This covers basically everything at the first approximation.
