Education was supposed to be a ladder out of poverty. Today, many graduates climb that ladder for years, only to discover that there is nowhere to go when they reach the top. We need to rethink what education means in a society that cannot employ its own graduates.

Politicians are not our masters. They are public servants hired with our votes and paid with our taxes. The moment they forget that, citizens must remind them who employs whom!

A politician who distributes money to desperate families while leaving the conditions that produce desperation untouched is not necessarily solving poverty. Sometimes, poverty is the very thing that makes their political generosity profitable. Judge leadership by lasting change, not temporary relief.

How does a country of 59 million people become hostage to a few thousand political elites? They make the laws, determine our taxes, control our resources and shape our future, yet we are the ones who pay the price for their decisions. Something about this arrangement has never made sense to me.

A nation can borrow billions, build impressive presentations and announce ambitious projects while its people become poorer. National progress cannot be measured by the size of a loan or the number of ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Show us what ordinary households can actually afford.

Be radical when it comes to your country! Never be so comfortable with injustice that you become afraid to challenge it.

They said Burkina Faso was too poor to make it without international financial lifelines. Four years later, it is reporting an $8.2 billion budget without IMF support. Africa doesn't lack potential. We need leaders who dare to explore it.

We are angry because politicians are looting our country, yet when we want to protest against them, we must seek permission from the same system we are protesting. Think about that absurdity. The people are the employers, politicians are the employees, yet the employers must ask their employees for permission to complain.

Poverty is not always a personal failure. Sometimes it is the predictable outcome of poor policy, unequal opportunity, corruption and institutions that serve the connected before the common citizen.

No people in history have ever begged their oppressors into granting them freedom. Oppressors surrender power when people organise, stand firm, and refuse to accept oppression as their destiny.
