The uncertainty of a new school year can be a big trigger for stress – so if we want to help students to transition smoothly into the new academic year, it's important to reduce that uncertainty.
Find out how we can do so in our latest blog ⤵️

Final back to school tip from me. This is number 9.
Pray! Pray for your children, their friends, the teachers & staff of the school. Everyone will be feeling nervous and excited about the year ahead. Ask God to be with them & watch over them.
The @BecketKeys prayer is here.
Terms about to start so here’s my back to school tip #8. School Dinners!
If your child is new to secondary school talk to him/her about what you want to see them buying in the restaurant. At Becket Keys, we serve breakfast, break & lunch. Parents might want to set a daily limit.
Most schools allow parents to see what your son/daughter is buying and how much it is costing. I suggest you make a daily habit of checking that portal and discussing it with your child.
Back to school tip #6. Get prepared! All schools have a stationery list; ours is here. Make sure your son/daughter has everything on the list and a few spares and label them so they don’t get lost. The joy of a new pencil case and smart stationery should not be underestimated!
See my Back to School Tip #1 for my recommendation of labels for your son/daughter. Simple, quick labelling will help save things getting lost!
I’ve been Tweeting some ‘Back to school’ tips recently. Here’s another one. I think it is Number 5. I suggest you purchase some zippy wallets like these. ryman.co.uk/ryman-zip-bag-he… Your son/daughter can use them to divide up exercise books and equipment for the day ahead.
The zippy wallets protect the books, save children carrying everything around on their backs all day and helps them to break up the organisation of the next day into more manageable chunks.
Back to School Tip #4. If your child has slipped into poor bedtime routines (late nights & lie ins) it’s best for them to address this incrementally. Create a plan to adjust from where they’re now to where they need to be for school by moving bedtime/wake up by 30 mins per day.
