Haven’t seen many people talk about the adjustment CP made last week, so I wanted to shed some light on it.
Marquese Bell was benched in favor of Alijah Clark, and MAN did he deliver.
It’s frustrating that it took this long, especially with all the injuries in the safety room, but Clark showed exactly why he deserves a shot.
After playing just ONE defensive snap vs. TB, Clark played 38 against PHI. He allowed just 2 targets and 1 reception for 9 yards. For reference, Bell played just 21 snaps against PHI.
But the stats don’t tell the full story. The tape is where Clark really stands out.
First, the EFFORT. It jumps off the screen immediately. His pursuit was ELITE all night, and might’ve been the best on the team. No matter where he started, he was almost always around the ball when the play ended.
If you love football, watching his tape will genuinely get you fired up. We saw that motor on his viral special teams play last year, but seeing him bring that same energy across nearly 40 defensive snaps was something else.
He also looked incredibly comfortable carrying crossers across the field. You can tell he sees the game well from the safety spot, both against the run and in coverage. He’s decisive, plays fast, and doesn’t hesitate.
Of course, there are areas to clean up, as there are with any young player. But this was some seriously impressive tape from a guy who’s barely had an opportunity on defense this season.

I think this is the best ladder spot on the board today, gotta go with my gut feeling as yesterday I said Mara DD was calling my name and didn't play it. Can't miss out on this one.
Jordan Walsh signed a 3 year long extension as he was the Celtics project player coming out of Arkansas. He has developed into a great defender for them as he is now in the starting lineup.
The Celtics are playing on a back to back tonight and against the nets with a spread of 11.5. My thought here is that Paul George is going to sit which will increase minutes for the young wings on the team.
If Paul george sits, this line will not be available and the ladder will also not have the same value.
Even if he doesn't sit this matchup is very favorable.
The Brooklyn Nets rank 25th this season in points per game to SF's averaging 26.0, and 30th in 3PM averaging 4.5 per game. 45% of Walsh's shot's come from the 3 point line, and the rest basically make up of the restricted area 48% where brooklyn defends at the 23rd spot in the NBA.
45% shots from Walsh are C&S - Nets ranks 29th
55% shots are < 10 ft - Nets rank 26th
It's clear and obvious that there are multiple scoring pathways for Walsh to get 5+ points at least, and with the expected blowout we will probably see an uptick in his minutes played.
When playing 17+ minutes (his proj.) he is over this line in his last 7/10
