This is a sad day; I cannot say while until the family grants me, but it makes me TOTALLY appreciate and give thanks .. to do all I can for as many as I can for as long as I can.

Going through my pictures, I found this one of Cooper, Odom, and me before we started a one-way road trip from Edmonton, AB, Canada, to Orlando, Florida. I felt anxiety about taking them on that road trip for months prior, not knowing how they would do.
Every morning before hitting the road and every night upon arriving at a new hotel along the way, we went for a walk, and their tails wagged with so much happiness. They had no problem with the long drive, knowing there was a promised daily walk.
This was a new routine for me, and I looked for their happiness so much that it inspired my own. I had not done a daily walk with them in Edmonton (let alone 2), but once we moved to Florida, it was something I did each day, and it brought me peace in the morning and at night.
I often get sad that they are no longer with me physically, but those little habits and routines they helped me develop are how they live in me daily.
Long story short, sometimes the things you dread the most can be the best thing that ever happened to you.
I hope those two are taking daily walks together.
3 More Things I Learned This Week:
1. Do more things that make you think about nothing other than where you are now. Being present where you are is a gift to others and yourself.
2. The most uplifting conversation you can have is often the one going on in your head. It can also be the most destructive. When you struggle, focus on things that have brought you joy in the past. It sometimes not only numbs current pain but can give you future strength.
3. I am trying to get better when I feel insecure about someone else’s success, trying to realize that my jealousy doesn’t move me any further ahead. I am trying to focus on learning what they have done to get where they are today. If I can apply that in some way myself, it will only help me grow.
What did you learn this week?

I am asking any and all peeps what is the best practice or model for a good mathcamp? I just did one in July, and deviated from what I was given (e.g. used @joboaler for number talks) #MTBoS, #iteachmath, #swmn

With all the fun (and not so fun) activities that consumed my summer, I realized that I am way too hard on myself and need to see the inspirationalist that others see...so I am kicking my own butt and getting back to research by finishing my 2nd Master's degree in C&I

Hey y'all! I wanted to announce my website, corysheldahltutoring.net, there's not a lot on it yet, but just that the "open" light is back on, serving #SWMN (in person) and beyond (virtually). I will try to rebuild the structure to my original design when I was in AOL Education.
