Zia Yusuf styles himself Shadow Home Secretary. He has no right to that title. He is not even a Member of Parliament. The real Shadow Home Secretary is Chris Philp, the Conservative MP appointed by the Leader of the Official Opposition. Yesterday Andrea Jenkyns claimed she signed a landmark trade agreement between Lincolnshire and Taiwan. A mayor has no power to sign international trade deals. Trade policy is reserved to the Westminster government. At best she signed a non binding MOU. This is not politics. This is cosplay. Pure theatre from a party that pretends to be the government it is not.
