Students from Wilder and other area schools participated in the Prejudice Awareness Summit held at VCU. Our 8th graders discussed prejudice and discrimination and began planning an awareness campaign to share what they learned to other Wilder students!

Today, I had a s tell me my class is the only class he has learned things he can use in life. Other students clapped. ♥️ I try not to just teach science but life skills....to get my students to think! Definitely made me feel like I'm doing somethin right! #teachmorethancontent

Yesterday was a full.circle moment for me. About 15+ years ago I was at a camp conference and the Key Note Speaker was the amazing @mrronclark_ . After seeing him speak and listening to the impact he made, I decided right there I was going to become a teacher.
It took me until 2020 (of all the years) to finally fulfill that goal. Tonight, I was able to see his business partner and friend @kimbearden speak about her journey. I am about to begin my journey to be NBTC and this was just what was needed to push through this challenge.
One day I will get the @ronclarkacademy to learn from the best. #goals #inspired #fullcircle #thankyou
