Great teamwork this afternoon in Reception. We are building something to help Jack escape from the Giant’s castle. The children have shown curiosity and unity when making zip lines for him to escape! @PoppyfieldSch @MrsBytheway
Lots of water/imaginative play in the shade for Hedgehog class today. Staying cool and engaging in lots of activities that strengthens their fine motor skills! @PoppyfieldSch
This half term our challenge pack is called ‘magical worlds’. This afternoon the children have loved working together to create their very own magical worlds. @PoppyfieldSch @MrsBytheway
It is so lovely to see a full reading area during our choosing time. Children playing phonics games and doing some independent reading. We have had lots lovely discussion about the stories they have been reading. @MrsBytheway @PoppyfieldSch
Our snails have had the best time over half term with one of children and her lovely family. They even bought them a new home! Thank you ❤️ @PoppyfieldSch
We have had a lovely afternoon taking care of our giant African land snails-Charlie, Gerald and Bowzer. We have found out that they love pears so today we have given them some apple to try. @PoppyfieldSch

Today we have been thinking about all the lovely activities we have done in Reception this year. We had a think about all of our values that linked to them. The children then created a picture of Soar using skills we learnt from @KanjNicholas. @PoppyfieldSch #values
Some beautiful posters made today by Hedgehog class. We are enjoying our story ‘somebody swallowed Stanley” learning about the problems a plastic bag can create in the oceans and how we can help.@PoppyfieldSch @MrsBytheway
Today I set the children a challenge, to make a jellyfish using any of the materials I had put on the tuff tray. They have been so creative and loved having freedom to choose how they would like to create something. 🪼@PoppyfieldSch @MrsBytheway
