Today's victory: An EL L1 could not figure out how to log on to play a Parts of Speech Kahoot but stuck around (hasn't done any Canvas assignment either). He SWEPT the Parts of Speech and did even better than the kid who came in 1st on Kahoot! #FLHornets

Normally not the kind of books I'd read but I had to--Shatter Me (sci-fi) and Need (dystopian mystery)--for PD. Surprised myself by enjoying both! Pandemic + teacher life = constantly stepping out of one's comfort zone.
What Mrs. Reilly is reading. I always tell my students that I read the summary/synopsis in the back cover of a paperback to help me decide if I REALY want to read the book. This book is perfect for our current times. #FLHornets
An ESOL L1 was waiting 20 mins BEFORE our Zoom to show @JenSmithjs1 and me how he had logged on to Kahoot. Melted our hearts. Since some L1 and L2 students and parents are still working on accessing email, texting their parents has paid off! @brewerhm @brijslater #FLHornets
And today @JenSmithjs1 and I had a student waiting 30 mins early! So happy to see L1s and L2s showing up for virtual lessons. For now, this makes my heart happy.
