It's an exciting day as we welcomed our new teachers to the Riverview Family! Their orientation includes working with resource teacher mentors, exploring BCPS resources, and a scavenger hunt through the building. We are so happy to have them join us!

We worked so hard in our front garden today! This week second grade is learning about gardening and plants so we decided to give our school some love! Thanks everyone who joined! @Riverview_ES – at Essex, MD

Today is hard for everyone in BCPS. Teaching today is not easy. This activity we did with students this morning reminded me why I persevere through the hard times and show up for our kids. It's not easy - AND it's worth it.

"If you are waking up every single day wondering: How did this become my life? What happened to my profession? I thought I knew what I was doing. I thought I knew how to teach fairly well, and now I feel like I know nothing. I don't even recognize this job...

Maybe you've heard that @Conscious has achieved @caselorg’s SELect Program designation. But you might be wondering: What does that mean?

Had 14 students attend ELO Summer STEM Camp today and it was a blast! We had lots of fun being engineers and building towers together! One student built their tower all the way to the fan! Amazed by their work @Riverview_ES @BCPSTitleI @BCPSElementary @BaltCoPS @futuremakerkids

And because I realized that I’m going to go days with picture books-I wanted to add in some chapter books too! This book by THE @reneewauthor is very much the Ramona Quimby of the 21st Century. Ryan Hart is without a doubt funny, inquisitive and creative! For upper elementary.

Just had the most open and honest conversation I think I’ve ever had with so many members of our @Riverview_ES teaching family. It was heartening to see so many of us committing to doing more and I am all in for our equity journey! #believetheycan #BLM
