One thing I’m never going to do is sit as an American who gets access to 95% of K-pop shows coming to my country, and tell an entire continent of people that they aren’t allowed to be disappointed. African ARMYs are absolutely, 100% allowed to feel disappointed that BTS has never performed in their countries. BTS has performed on every other continent (obviously excluding Antarctica 🙄), and Africa is the one continent that has yet to get that opportunity. And let’s be clear here, major international artists have performed in Africa before. It’s not unheard of, it’s not some impossible logistical feat, and it is absolutely possible. Whether BTS and their team choose to make it happen is an entirely different conversation. There are logistics, planning, and a million other factors that go into putting together a world tour obviously. Nobody is disputing that. But none of that invalidates the disappointment of fans who have supported this group for years and still haven't had the opportunity to see them perform in their own part of the world. Two things can be true at once. We can all acknowledge the logistical challenges without dismissing people's feelings. And as someone who lives in a country that regularly gets these opportunities, I certainly would never tell an entire continent of fans how they should feel about being overlooked.
