We had a crap CPI inflation number this morning. The market is selling off, but when I looked up the MBS bond chart and the 10yr UST It was not reflecting the headline CPI number. As you can see we've already regained 42bps on the bond market as I write this. The 10yr has fallen from 5.31 back to 5.24.
If the $TLT closes green today that will be the first time since May that it's had 4 green closing days in a row.
Of course no one knows what the future holds, but the numbers are reflecting a short term high in mortgage rates. I could see a drop in mortgage rates into the mid-terms.
