The thrill of performing and coming in second was the boost I needed to not give up on my dream. Self doubt is one of the hardest things we can conquer but a little confidence goes such a long way. Every clapping of hands and cheer told me don’t stop. +
Thanking everyone I blow kisses and walk off to join my fellow performers. “You were wonderful” the woman who went on before me says. “Were you nervous” she asks. “Thank you so much, you were great too. Funny up there is where I am most comfortable” +
Finally the drapes are opened and people are filling in to the tables and seats by the bar. It’s known that sometimes agents come to this place to find new talent. One will never be advised who is in the crowd so we perform naturally. +
