Long degeneracy, long Brazilification
I just invested $400,000 into a residential security door and door frame company. Imagine doors and windows that take 2 hours to knock down with a sledgehammer. Every Canadian is going to need it

Maybe the best way to optimize for tax is just to double your income. 100k zero tax is the same as 200k at 50% tax? The issue in 50% tax countries is less so the tax, moreso the compliance burden
I will go one step further… DON’T move to LatAm unless you are making $5k a month. Living like a local is not a life hack. You can’t optimize for tax when you are making $2K per month.

Anybody ever figure out why Latinos REFUSE to use headphones ever? Why are they always listening to nonsense on speakerphone in public? Still haven't figured it out. Comment your best theory below 🤣

The Canadian dream is to leave Canada
120,640 people left Canada last year, the highest number since records began in 1952 We are in a generational brain drain crisis. The math doesn’t math for a lot of our top talent to stay here and we need to change that. Fast.

Yeah obviously if you stay in San Francisco youre going to become much wealthier than being 100% remote. Thats nothing new. Thats the tradeoff. San Francisco or remote, those are the options. But if your version of staying in the USA is Tampa or Denver or some "mid market" city, you're not in the beating heart of the economy anyway. Be REALLY close to the action, or lifestyle maxx. No in between.
🧵 Before you think about moving abroad, read this article... Living on $1,500/month in paradise isn't the life hack you think it is. You may be wasting your prime earning years chasing a cheap lifestyle, letting your work ethic atrophy, and setting yourself up to be broke at 40.

Europe is getting poorer, the Americas are getting richer.
I'm noticing the growing possibility that Europe becomes very poor in the course of the next 10-20 years. You have the following factors: - Heavy industry totally uncompetitive against China, automakers etc. rapidly losing ground - Services industry totally uncompetitive against AI - No natural resources, or regulatory hurdles making their extraction impossible - No access to the new economy (no AI, no data centers, uncompetitive energy sector) - Client states caught in one-way welfare ratchets, spend reallocation + investment well-nigh impossible This seems under-contemplated. And we're talking really, seriously dirt poor: taken to its logical conclusion, many countries will have much, much smaller services and manufacturing industries -- economies may become much more heavily skewed toward natural resources and energy markets, where Europe has made it impossible for itself to compete. And I'm not saying that this is likely to happen, it's an extreme case. But the probability is greater than zero and appears to be growing. The EV of that is so negative that it's surprising to me that it's not coming up more.

i met the oldest person in the world today. here’s what he told me about how to live a long, healthy life (tldr at the end): josé flores was born on July 11, 1907, he is 119 years old. “what's the secret to living 119 years?”, i asked him… “trabajo!” (work) up until a few years ago, José was still on his farm, planting crops and chopping brush with a machete. in Japan, they call this Ikigai (生き甲斐), a word meaning “a reason for being.” It is well known to be associated with longevity across many cultures. (pmid 19539820) his lifestyle defies most mainstream longevity ideas... -he doesn't fear the sun. He works in it daily. -he eats meat every single day: beef, fish, or chicken, & organs like heart and liver. nothing from the animal is wasted. (large population studies corroborate the strong, consistent association between animal food consumption and longevity. (pmid 35228814)) -he eats local foods & doesn’t fear natural sugars. Fruit, vegetables, milk, and honey. -he cooks with animal fats and adds these to staples like rice and beans. lard, tallow, and butter. he doesn’t fear saturated fat, nor do most in this nicoya region of costa rica. -he doesn't drink coffee (!) , but he loves young coconut water & agua dulce- a juice made from sugar cane. -he plays dominoes every day with his family and visitors to keep his mind sharp. the formula for maxing out your genetic longevity potential doesn’t have to be complex or cost thousands of dollars: i. eat unprocessed food. single ingredient foods (meat, plants, with no ingredient labels) for >95% of meals. ii. find a purpose, and work toward it daily. iii. get outside. don't fear the sun. moderate exposure is associated with longevity in many studies (PMID 26992108) iv. stay close to your people. the people you care about are critical to the formula. Protect that community. a large study from Harvard found that meaningful community was the strongest predictor of longevity. (PMID 31495897) v. don't take life too seriously. Laugh as much as possible. everyone I have met in my exploration of longevity (ikaria, sardinia, nicoya, switzerland…) who was aging well had an easy sense of humor and smiled + laughed often. tldr: longevity doesn’t have to be as complicated as it’s made out to be. high food quality with animal foods moderate sunlight movement purpose community eat food for humans, live like a human, & thrive. we all have a genetic longevity potential, this is how you maximize it.

Well at least if you're a Mexico resident you won't have to pay this "visitax"
El @GobiernoMX junto con @MaraLezama siguen exprimiendo el poco turismo que llega a Quintana Roo, esto va a terminar igual que con Tulum. Ahora la 4T va a destruir el turismo en México.

Mexico residency is honestly unreal
Replying to @MyLatinLife
Yes it is that easy, you don't even have to visit the country to maintain your residency and when you don't have a job or business in Mexico they let you live in the country 365 days per year without becoming a tax resident.

It's always shocking when Hotels use instant coffee in the morning breakfast. A decent cup of coffee is already pennies! Instant bad review
