Opening Plenary | National Consultative Workshop on Scaling E-Cooking Access in Pakistan
SDPI in collaboration with @NEECA_Pakistan and with the support of United Nations ESCAP and the MECS programme, convened the National Consultative Workshop on "Scaling E-Cooking Access in Pakistan."
The workshop focused on advancing Pakistan's transition to modern, clean cooking by strengthening policy coordination, mobilising investment, and identifying pathways to scale electric cooking. With growing solar adoption and persistent challenges in access to clean cooking, Pakistan needs coordinated institutional support and locally relevant solutions to turn this opportunity into progress.

SDPI’s @NCET_Pak has launched the Energy Regulatory Sandbox to examine how competitive auctions under CTBCM could affect DISCOs, revenue streams and end-consumer tariffs.
The 200 MW Phase-I wheeling auction could result in an estimated Rs. 30.9 billion in revenue loss for DISCOs, while virtual power plants (VPPs) and net-metering surplus could unlock an estimated Rs. 93 billion in revenue potential.
