NCTO & the U.S. #texile industry thank Senator Graham for her leadership and support of the Berry Amendment & Buy American rules for government procurement. We agree there must be no "waivers, no exceptions" on military uniforms & PPE.
Great meeting with textile leaders recently in Spartanburg. These men and women represent thousands of South Carolinians working in the American textile industry. When it comes to the procurement of goods bought with taxpayer dollars for the United States government like military uniforms, federal law enforcement uniforms, PPE, etc., we must maintain our strict enforcement of Buy America and the Berry Amendment. America must never allow countries like Cambodia, China, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Mexico to make our military and law enforcement uniforms, and PPE. No waivers, no exceptions!

NCTO CEO Kim Glas joined an HHS industry roundtable on the nation’s #PPE supply chain this week. Much of this supply chain has gone overseas, posing a national security & health threat. NCTO calls for long-term contracts, market certainty & measures to support U.S. #textiles.

NCTO and the U.S. #textile industry sincerely thank Rep. Khanna for engaging directly with American textile manufacturers. We look forward to working with him to confront challenges & bolster this strategically important industry!
I joined the Manufacturing Solutions Center and the Industrial Commons for a roundtable on how to rebuild American manufacturing and combat Chinese subsidies. Companies alone cannot compete against countries. North Carolina used to lead the world in textiles and furniture. If Congress gets to work, it can once again.
