When your homes and drainage systems are destroyed by a genocidal entity the daily struggle is immeasurably hard. Shame on the UK government whose complicity in the genocide continues and allows for this cruelty. 🇪🇭 End the blockade of Gaza. 🇪🇭 Solidarity with Palestine.

Trump's illegal war on Iran played a huge role in his resounding defeat in the US midterms. This war has led to thousands of civilian deaths, and seen Trump threaten to 'wipe out' a civilisation. The UK government must now end its support for this war. See CND's full statement.

Iɴ Eᴜʀᴏᴘᴇ, ᴀ sᴛᴏʀᴍ ɪs ʀɪsɪɴɢ, ᴀɴᴅ ɪᴛ ʜᴀs ᴏɴʟʏ ᴊᴜsᴛ ʙᴇɢᴜɴ In periods of stagnation, people learn slowly. In periods of struggle, many people can learn very quickly. People who thought they were standing alone can find one another. People can discover how much they have in common, and how much power they can build together. We are seeing that today, from Rome to Madrid, from Brussels to Dublin, from Paris to London. The storm has only just begun. Read the full article by Peter Mertens here: nocoldwar.org/news/in-europe…

▪️Excellent report reveals how Britain’s arbitrary and vastly increased ‘defence’ spending is not focused on defence at all but on ‘global force projection’. ▪️Within that framework the report reveals that ‘Britain’s military wastes billions of pounds each year on offensive operations across the world, a maximum nuclear programme and a dysfunctional procurement system’. ▪️The military budget is projected to more than double from £70 billion in 2025/6 to £151billion in 2035/6. ▪️This will mean mass fatalities in war zones plus cuts to budgets for welfare, climate change and net zero and all aspects of public services. ▪️Ending pursuit of NATO’s arbitrary military spending target is vital - ‘it would make available £279 billion over the next decade. This report is a great resource.
NEW: Keir Starmer declared last year that the “peace dividend” was over, promoting the myth that Britain’s military spending has declined since the end of the Cold War.   Our latest report shows this simply isn’t true. 🧵

Working for life when the blockade tries to take it. 🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺
🏥At the Holguín Pediatric Hospital, the night wears on and newborns sleep in their incubators. Suddenly, the power goes out. Darkness covers everything—but not the instinct of two nurses who, without hesitation, rise in unison. Diana and Liliannis don't need to think. One turns on the rechargeable lamp; the other grabs a manual Ambu-type resuscitator and begins pumping air into the lungs of Leonardo, a baby connected to a ventilator that has just stopped. Their hands hold the thread of a life that has barely begun. The incubator maintains the temperature, but it needs electricity. When it fails, time condenses and every second weighs like fear and responsibility. While the blockade complicates spare parts and fuel, these workers sustain the lives of those who cannot wait. There are no sophisticated alarms—only one made by hand from radio parts and steady hands.
