1/3 HSP-029: Establish a 24-Month Issuance Ramp to a 1.6% Target Rate of NEAR Token Emissions — Vote now!
This proposal aims to gradually reduce $NEAR's annual token issuance from 2.5% to 1.6% over 24 months, helping reduce token dilution and strengthen long-term tokenomics.
2/3 Key Highlights
- 11.8M fewer NEAR issued over 2 years
- 66.1M fewer NEAR issued over 6 years
- Existing 90/10 staking–treasury split remains unchanged
- Projected staking yield declines from 5.268% to 3.372%, assuming staking participation remains at 42.71%
90-day grace period before the 24-month ramp begins
The goal is to reduce token dilution while considering network security and validator sustainability.

The proposal to establish House of Stake as Registrar for the NEAR Top-Level Account Namespace has completed its Main Vote.
3/4 What does HSP-028 mean?
HSP-028 establishes House of Stake as the governance authority for NEAR's Top-Level Account namespace root, with the House of Stake Security Council acting as Registrar.
The Registrar's role is focused on executing valid TLA creation requests, while the product and commercial side remains with the nearaccounts.com team.
4/4 What comes next?
The next step is continuing the rollout of the NEAR Top-Level Account ecosystem, opening new possibilities for projects, businesses, communities, users and AI agents to build their own namespaces on NEAR.
