Too slow. I already fixed every problem with Dead Space Remake on the day it launched, by just playing the original.
Imagine paying for unnecessary soulless remakes of perfectly playable modern masterpieces.
Dead Space Remake’s infamous PC traversal stutters may finally have a real fix.
A new community mod called Ishimura Patch targets the way the game’s Frostbite engine handles GPU memory allocations, instead of relying on workarounds like slowing down asset streaming.
In Wccftech’s testing on an RTX 4090 + i7-14700K:
Average FPS: 292.8 → 305.3 (+4.3%)
1% lows: 83.9 → 157.6 (+87.8%)
0.1% lows: 35.7 → 98.6 (+176.2%)
The worst spike dropped from around 45ms to about 14ms

This attitude has only grown. Games holding on to deep traditions, or that old-school carefree nature, are still treated this way online.
"Bright uniform required, dull personality essential" is exactly what's said about any game where the women aren't in burqas, for instance.
Happy Anniversary, Panel de Pon.
The game is incredible, and it deserved better.
Replacing the cast of fairies with Yoshi, and tacking on the "Tetris" title, in the overseas version is deeply regrettable. I wish Nintendo had held faith in Panel de Pon's charming world and cast.

It always fascinating when corpo-bloggers and normies see a big number like "3.3 million" and just assume that this means the game in question was not only successful, but a smash runaway hit. Three million copies doesn't even approach profitability for these bloated productions.
I think it's funny that it's 100% okay to dump on EA over having made terrible games for decades, but not okay for absolutely any other studio, or else you're a toxic evil ungrateful entitled manbaby chud incel who hates women and wants to cage minorities, etc..
Drone mindset.

This is getting so performative.
“I demand that people reverse engineer games by hand! And for free!”
Knock it off. This doesn’t affect the human creativity involved with making the original KI:U.
> Anthropic goes public after losing $80 billion in six months
> Elon: banks and lenders won't give to AI businesses anymore without other major forms of income, confirms mass closures and sell-offs of AI companies.
Called it. Only room for one or two. The rest vanish quick.
Anthropic has officially filed to go public.
The AI company has filed its S-1 with US regulators and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT.
The filing says its founders will retain 50.1% of the voting power through a founders’ company. Anthropic also reported an $80.7 billion loss in the first half of 2026, according to CNBC.
The IPO could value Anthropic at around $2 trillion, with trading potentially starting in mid-November.

Errrm... I've been part of the aim community for 283 years, and you've clearly never seen high-level play if you think this obvious cheating is cheating.

If only there was some sort of social movement in the early-mid 2010's about games journalists lying

It's crazy how we're not talking about the fact that gaming news outlets and influencers straight-up lied and claimed fans were calling the actress herself ugly and it blew up so now major outlets are covering an objectively false story that doesn't exist.

"the game is spiritually an extension of the Netflix show"
Exactly.
I find it evil when developers cheered for Charlie Kirk's assassination, or call for political murder generally like nightdive does, so I rely on Steam Curators to stay informed on both. It's not Valve's job to demand that disclosure.
Curators can handle AI just fine.

Let’s explore that idea. Say there is a large contingent of gamers that don’t like democrats or, equivalently, republicans. Should Valve force developers to list their political affiliation? Is that pro-consumer? Do you think that policy would have a positive effect on gaming?

Ah
So the industry indeeds Blacklist people with different life/political views from the industry
Even though this is already a thing known before anyway
Chris Avellone (Planescape, KOTOR 2, and Fallout: New Vegas) just dropped a MEGATON NUKE regarding BioWare's hiring practices...
"...when applicants would apply to the studio, the producer would go through their LinkedIn to see what posts they liked, and if he disagreed with their political/social Like, he'd advocate not to hire them based on their Like."
ITS TRUE. EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN SAYING. ITS ALL TRUE.
HOLY SHIT!

Localizers will blatantly disrespect the Japanese source material and act as though it's clever and funny. Esti Erhard of Atelier's Arland trilogy is a great example of turning a character into a complete joke by making her name a play on STD.
Somehow, practices like this are considered a professional job in the world of localization, which is all that is needed to demonstrate the low standards of the industry and with how little respect Japanese media is treated via localizers.
This should never be acceptable.
Like Sony has just learned, the cat and mouse game of 'hack, new firmware, hack, new firmware' is now tipped in the user's favor to a comical degree. Ocarina is going to get a lot of talented people to focus their efforts on getting the Switch 2 platform running natively on PC.

I've said the debate around AI in game development is over. My evidence being that, like the automobile and printing press, the rabid cancel mob failed to draw enough blood to threaten the world out of utilizing the advancements.
Miyamoto's approval is the bow on top. It's done.
You don't have to like it. There's plenty about it that I don't like, but the talk is over. That much is clear.
