We did a re-draft of the 2024 QB class today on the @NFLDraftCBS pod. I know Bo Nix hasn't been perfect but I'm taking him No. 2 in part because Jayden can't stay healthy and Drake forgot how to play football.

This isn't a big-board update -- just my list of the draft-eligible QBs who have played the best so far this season.

The pressure on Arch Manning is impossible to comprehend.
@RanCarthon made a great point on the pod: Arch is under more pressure than Peyton was coming out of TEN.
But stylistically, he’s less Peyton and more Eli -- even a little Archie. More movement, improvisation, chaos.

Just had our annual Franchise QB Draft on the @NFLDraftCBS pod. I can admit it -- @RanCarthon won last year. This year is going to be different though:

Just talked on the pod about the expectations for Arch Manning vs. Ohio State this week after a strong debut.
More people in the league are of this opinion than the general media consensus. Good stuff from @mzenitz.

Ty Benefield was No. 20 on my preseason big board and @RanCarthon took him 27th overall in our preseason @NFLDraftCBS mock draft last week.
A couple non-eligibility related LSU notes heading into today:
LSU and NFL scouts are very high on Boise State safety transfer Ty Benefield. Scouts have told @CBSSports that he has first round potential.
LSU also expecting a big breakout year from another DB, Dashawn Spears.
Don’t be surprised when these 10 NFL rookies make a HUGE impact this season 🧵

Just talked about this on the @NFLDraftCBS pod: @RanCarthon thinks Mike Washington Jr. can be just as productive in Klint Kubiak's offense as Ashton Jeanty.

We busted out our first mock draft ahead of the 2026 college football season on the @NFLDraftCBS pod and only had 4 QBs in the first round (for now).

What happens first: Aaron Donald takes the field for the Rams or Fernando Mendoza becomes the starter for the Raiders? Put that question to @RanCarthon, who was with Donald in LA.

Real football is kinda sorta back with the Hall of Fame game. Asked @rancarthon on the @NFLDraftCBS pod about realistic expectations for Carson Beck, who'll be making his debut in a game that's sure to be sloppy.

Are offensive linemen actually smarter than defensive linemen? @Ky1eLong has joked about it before and obviously @LegerDouzable disagrees ... So I put the question to @RanCarthon today on the @NFLDraftCBS pod.

We talked our favorite draft-eligible tight ends heading into the college football season and I asked @RanCarthon a very simple question: Can LSU's Trey'Dez Green be a top-10 pick by the time it's all said and done?
