Community Meeting - Tuesday, 12/10 @ 6 pm | The New Haven Green is a one of our city’s most defining, treasured and utilized public spaces. And we’ve got some exciting ideas on how we can improve the Green and the streetscape even further. 1/2

Quick question: Is this platform helpful for getting out information about safe streets, traffic calming, & classes in New Haven? We don't see much engagement & may drop the platform since it is ineffective for organic reach, even with those that follow our account. Thoughts?

NOT GOOD - Driving increased from 2022 to 2023. The increased driving (vehicle miles traveled, VMT) trend will blow past the goal to reduce CT VMT 5% by 2030. Increased driving causes more tailpipe pollution & climate change emissions. portal.ct.gov/dot/-/media/do… @CTDOTOfficial

The only way to prevent gigantic SUVs & pickups from killing pedestrians is to reduce car bloat. Technology alone won’t do it – even if automakers claim otherwise. Me, in @Slate 🧵 slate.com/business/2024/10/c…

Ward 9’s small yet important fix of the day (building off Council Member @nickroberts317) is this new stop sign at Castle and Main! Thank you to residents, Sgt. Alvarado, and @NewHavenDOT for the speedy response in making this intersection safer for neighbors 🛑
