Hindus always complained that Bollywood never made movies based on Hindu scriptures. Why did they always make movies like Mughal-e-Azam and Jodhaa Akbar?
But now, when a director is making India's biggest film, Ramayana, the same Hindus are unnecessarily criticizing it. Some say the actor playing Lord Ram eats beef, while others claim the actress playing Maa Sita is a leftist, and so on.
Our criticism should focus on whether anything has been misrepresented in the Ramayana or whether someone has acted poorly. We shouldn't be so concerned about what actors do in their personal lives.
Even if a leftist is making this film purely for money, if they are helping take our Hindu scriptures to the entire world in the right way, we should support them instead of finding petty faults and opposing them unnecessarily.
Because Lord Ram and our Dharma are far greater than these minor flaws and the personal ideologies of the actors.
And then RW complains about lack of ecosystem. Why would anyone be a part of it when you get triggered over trivial and sometimes non existent issues. Many haven't seen the movie but are sharing posts which calls the movie bad as it aligns with their " Feeling". – at Kolkata, India
Many RW accounts are against Ramayana movie. This is exactly why the RW keeps failing at soft power and propaganda. Simple black and white narrative works only in WhatsApp forwards.
A big, well made Ramayana that reaches international screens with global release does more for Hindu civilisational presence than a boycott calls. It puts the story in front of people who would never pick up Scriptures. It normalises the narrative. It creates the next generation of curious viewers. That is soft power.
Pop culture doesn’t convert people by shouting ideology. It works by making a civilisation’s stories desirable with epic scale, emotional stakes, visual spectacle, characters with depth. Hollywood, anime, and K-dramas didn’t win the world by making perfect propaganda; they made entertainment that people chose to consume. Once they do, curiosity about the source culture follows.

Just saw @WorldOfRamayana and I would say - Whatever expectations you have , make it 100x and you still feel it's not enough. A visual spectacle where the emotions land. Actors become the characters. BGM elevates moments. Everybody cooked. #RamayanaReview #RamayanaMovie – at Kolkata, India

#Ramayana is EXHILARATING CINEMA. A towering, soarinf achievement. Houses deeply immersive, breathtaking VFX, thrillingly conceptualized action sequences, fantastic performances, a heartrending emotional pull w/ solid stakes & a blockbuster score. Loved. Bring on PT 2!
For all the trolling, we need more people like Namit Malhotra. He is taking a huge risk, exhausting every network, connection, access he had to promote Ramayana, under pressure because of lot of negativity around film by various spectrum.
Salute to him & team.

Some stories are too big to be made by people who just like them. The Ramayana needed people who love it and believe it’s a story for the whole world. And I’m so glad it found them.
This film pushes boundaries and makes you believe that whatever is in your imagination can actually make it to the screen, when imagination is matched by conviction.
Incredibly proud to be a small part of something this ambitious.

Ramayana is a blockbuster of truly epic proportions, delivering some of the absolute best action set pieces Indian cinema has ever seen. But beyond the breathtaking visual spectacle, the film's biggest strength is Nitesh Tiwari's astute direction. This is entirely his ship, and he sails it with supreme control.
The casting is perfection:
Ranbir, Sai, and Yash all hit it completely out of the park.
A special shoutout to Ravi Dubey-he absolutely smashes it as Laxman.
Surprisingly the film has some wholesome humorous scenes that include him
While there are minor technical hiccups along the way (a few de-aging shots in night sequences feel slightly off) but the film is edited so tightly that you barely notice. Every single risk taken by DNEG and Namit Malhotra has paid off magnificently, with each action sequence outdoing the last. Nothing is going to stop this film from becoming a historic blockbuster.
My only advice is PLEASE WATCH ON THE BIGGEST SCREEN POSSIBLE
Do not judge this by cheap leaks or resort to piracy-this is made for the big screen.
I was sobbing in the end after the Jatayu fight scene
