Update 6: Service on the Morris and Essex, Gladstone Branch, and Montclair-Boonton Line is operating on a weekday schedule on Friday. However, due to impacts to crew and equipment resulting from the Newark Drawbridge issue on Thursday, service is not operating between Dover and Hackettstown on the Morris and Essex Line, or between MSU Station and Hackettstown on the Montclair-Boonton Line. Please allow extra travel time and check for updates before traveling.

How is this not a “substantial curtailment” of service necessitating NJ Transit public hearings in accordance with N.J.S.A. 27:25-8(d)1? @CommutingLarry @Colleenallreds @gregmocker @amandaeusticetv @stefanoschen @snietomunoz
Amtrak will perform critical construction to transfer, or “cut over,” rail operations from the 116-year-old Portal Bridge to the new Portal North Bridge. This work will require temporary but significant service changes starting Sunday, October 11. Learn more at njtransit.com/portalcutover
