Anabole steroïden zijn nog gevaarlijker dan gedacht. De Dopingautoriteit maakt zich zorgen over de bijna 500.000 Nederlanders die doping gebruiken. "Jongvolwassenen gaan voor kort succes. Maar als je weet wat de gezondheidsrisico's zijn, maak je wellicht een andere afweging."

Om beter te presteren gebruiken drie op de vier Nederlandse esporters wel eens prestatiebevorderende middelen. Vooral dranken of supplementen met cafeïne zijn populair. Het gebruik van bijvoorbeeld ADHD-medicatie en drugs ligt een stuk lager.

Sporters gebruiken Iomax onder meer omdat je met de pillen zwaarder zou kunnen trainen. Maar dat is niet zonder risico. Olivier van de @NLdoping legt uit wat deze pillen doen met onze hart- en bloedvaten en welke risico’s het gebruik ervan oplevert.
