🚨EXCLUSIVE: Cornell student’s attorney believes Letitia James’ appointment could be overturned
Andrew Miltenberg tells @KayleighMcEnany he believes his legal challenge to James’ appointment as special prosecutor has a “good chance” of succeeding.
He argues that the investigation should be led by someone “less personally invested in the case.” @FoxNews
"I understand that perceptions shift and memories shift after a period of time, but her initial statements, her initial texts, her initial testimony with respect to the police, all was very clear about how she viewed this situation," Andrew Miltenberg said.
🚨EXCLUSIVE: Cornell student’s attorney disputes Jane Doe’s account of alleged sexual assault
Andrew Miltenberg, attorney for Gillio Lopes, tells @KayleighMcEnany that his client disputes the allegations in Jane Doe’s civil complaint.
“That’s not true.”
Andrew Miltenberg, who represents Cornell student Gillio Lopes, argued that the case has become a "cultural battleground" and that James’ public statements supporting the accuser compromised her ability to conduct an impartial investigation.

“There’s this constant tension between high school kids wanting to go to a school with Greek life and schools wanting to promote a healthy Greek life,” said Andrew Miltenberg, a lawyer with extensive experience in Title IX cases who is now representing one of the so-called “Cornell 7.”

Andrew Miltenberg fired back at Doe's lawyer,
"The hypocrisy in Mr. Giuffra's sudden outrage over defense counsel speaking to the media is astonishing. He spent weeks promoting his client's allegations on television, in newspapers and across the internet, helping turn this case into a national media spectacle before the seven publicly identified defendants had a meaningful opportunity even to review the allegations, much less respond."

“If Cornell wants to make students safer,” attorney Andrew Miltenberg said, “it needs to do the harder work: establish consistent safety standards across campus, educate students about alcohol and consent, enforce the rules, improve reporting, and investigate allegations fairly.”
Cornell University banned its fraternity houses from hosting parties and social events for the remainder of the school year, its university president said.
“It is clear that women on our campus continue to question whether they are safe,” he said. wapo.st/4yIdcO5
"Andrew Miltenberg, a lawyer for one of the men accused in the woman’s lawsuit, criticized the restrictions announced Tuesday as a sweeping response to problems that extend beyond fraternities, arguing that universities promote Greek social life but distance themselves from it when controversies arise."

🚨🚨Cornell Pulls the Plug on Fraternity Parties, but ‘Cornell Seven’ Attorney Calls Out University’s Response ⬇️
Andrew Miltenberg, attorney for Gillio Lopes, has some strong words about Cornell University’s recent decision to suspend fraternity parties and social events.
“Shutting down fraternity and sorority social activities won't solve the underlying problems. Alcohol abuse, sexual misconduct, peer pressure, and issues surrounding consent aren't confined to Greek life. I've handled cases involving athletic teams, student organizations, residence halls, and situations that had nothing to do with fraternities or sororities. Greek organizations are part of the university community, not a culture apart from it. Many already have rules governing parties, alcohol, guests, and safety. Some need closer supervision, and violations should have consequences. But Cornell is responsible for ensuring those rules work and are enforced. It can't simply point to Greek life and say, There's the problem.”

Miltenberg has argued that the issue is not whether an official may express compassion for an alleged victim, but whether her language could reasonably be understood as accepting the allegations before reviewing the evidence.

It's not a perhaps. There are many great Title IX attorneys, but considering the overall litigation volume, multi-state coverage, precedent-setting appellate litigation, and the size and robustness of the team he has built, Miltenberg is the most prominent Title IX attorney.
"Andrew Miltenberg, attorney for one of the young men and perhaps the most prominent Title IX lawyer in the nation, brought an Article 78 proceeding, the mechanism under New York law by which official actions such as this are challenged, to annul Hochul’s appointment and disqualify James as prosecutrix."
"Through this official public statement, Attorney General James has made clear that she has formed an opinion about the case, that she believes the allegations made by Jane Doe, and that she has already reached the conclusion that Petitioner and the other named Defendants are guilty," said Andrew Miltenberg.
