Rome had one coliseum to distract the populace. We put one in damn near every major city across Western civilization and wonder why people are distracted. 🤷🏻
Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize. The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets. While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks. Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second.

We are not separate beings attempting to reconnect with the universe. We are the universe experiencing the illusion of separation through the temporary boundaries of individual existence. The energy that moves us through this realm is not born of this realm, it is responsible for the realms existence, it is us, we are it, there is no separation, what we perceive as instances of separation are simply the finite expressions of an infinite being.

Hollywood movies made me believe that those yellow plastic barrels on freeway ramps were filled with water instead of sand (or whatever they're actually filled with). We've all believed a lie at one time or another.

NASA just shared this insane new shot of the Grand Canyon from space 💥 From orbit, the Grand Canyon still looks immense—a vast, winding scar sliced into the Colorado Plateau by the Colorado River over roughly 5–6 million years. Stretching 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and more than a mile deep, its layered walls and dramatic depth remain unmistakable even from hundreds of miles above Earth. Yet the view is also a quiet reminder of scale: what feels monumental to us on the ground shrinks into a single, striking detail when seen against the full curve of the planet.

The neighborhood dogs start howling, so I joined in. The neighbor came out and yelled at the dogs, and now I feel bad, but it was still funny.

California lawmakers suck
Here we go again. Regulators forced synthetic folic acid into bread and now they are finagling it into corn products. California decided corn products need folic acid and now companies like Siete are reformulating products nationwide rather than making separate versions. That means Americans everywhere get the California treatment and regulators and Big Food have essentially nannied us again. In their effort to protect a small subset of Americans (pregnant women) they've subjected another subset of Americans (people with MTHFR variants) to potential problems. What's so bad about synthetic folic acid? There's concerns about FA's contribution to the growth of cancerous lesions. There's concerns about FA masking a legitimate B12 deficiency. There's concerns about excessive amounts of unmetabolized FA floating around in our blood because our body can't process it all. Proponents say : There's no proof that synthetic FA is harmful. I say: The onus to prove safety belongs on those pushing the supplement. Why is it the consumer’s responsibility to prove it's not safe? If adults want supplements, they can buy supplements. Lawmakers shouldn't be sneaking them into everyone's bread and now tortillas. Just look at history to understand what's at risk here. Every time government tells us what we should and shouldn't eat, they eventually end up saying, "Oops, we were wrong. Don't do that anymore." Somebody please tell me the Latin phrase for "Government, please shut up."

If electrons can only spin up or down, does that mean they are just the binary code that programs the matrix?

I've seen this one before, this is a classic!
Mirroring riots from the USA, where pallets of bricks were delivered to the centre of disorder. Pallets of glasses bottles dropped into the middle of French riots. Find out who did this, and you're half way to finding the truth.

We need you to stay in the games, Dre!
Per the NFL: 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been suspended without pay for one game for an act of unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.   During the second quarter, Greenlaw used his helmet to headbutt Seattle linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet, violating Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which applies to “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship.”   Greenlaw will be eligible to return to the 49ers’ active roster on Tuesday, October 20, following the team’s October 19 game against the Washington Commanders.   Under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Greenlaw may appeal the suspension. Any appeal will be heard and decided upon by either Derrick Brooks, Jordy Nelson, Ron Rivera, or James Thrash, the hearing officers jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player discipline.
